New Fallout 4 Pre-Load Details

New Fallout 4 pre-load details have emerged as we approach the Fallout 4 release date and time for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

As we make our way towards the Fallout 4 release date on November 10th, some key details remain in the shadows. Namely, the Fallout 4 pre-load time for the PC.

Bethesda and Microsoft opened up Fallout 4 Xbox One pre-loading ahead of the game’s release date but PC and PS4 owners were made to wait. Fortunately, the wait is over.

While the developer remains tight-lipped about the remaining Fallout 4 pre-load details, a retailer that’s selling Fallout 4 Steam keys spilled the beans early.

Earlier today, Green Man Gaming said that the PC pre-load would kick off at 9PM GMT (1PM Pacific here in the United States) but Fallout 4 pre-load for the PC actually arrived a few minutes after that.

PC Fallout 4 buyers on Reddit say that the PC pre-load is now live and those who pre-ordered the digital version of the game from Steam can now download the files. Those who bought from a third-party retailer like Green Man Gaming should receive a code today. Here is what the retailer said earlier today:

If you have pre-ordered Fallout 4 from us, you will have your key in time for pre-load. It will be added to the Games section of your account and you will receive an email with your key. Please check the Games tab in your account to locate your key as the email may be delayed.

As a reminder, those of you that pre-ordered the physical version of the game or the Fallout 4 Pip Boy Edition will not be able to pre-load before the release date.

Best Buy and GameStop will be hosting midnight Fallout 4 release date events that will provide those with a physical pre-order to buy the game once the clock strikes 12:01AM ET on November 10th. Only select stores will be open you’ll need to check in before the release date.

This news comes on the heels of two more important pre-load details. Sony’s now confirmed the size of Fallout 4 in the United States. The game will be nearly 30GB in size which is a little larger than the file for Xbox One.

Some believe that the PS4 Fallout 4 pre-load will come on Sunday but this remains unconfirmed right now.

Bethesda’s also confirmed a problem ahead of the Fallout 4 release date. Those who purchased the game in late October might need to reinstall the game ahead of its release date on November 10th. More details about this Xbox One related pre-load problems can be found below.

You Might Need to Reinstall Fallout 4

If you pre-ordered Fallout 4, digitally, before or on October 27th, and you aren't using the Instant On feature, you might have downloaded the wrong file.  If you meet this criteria, note that you'll probably have to reinstall the title because you probably have an incorrect "stub file."  A stub file is a placeholder file.  In order to save yourself some time and a headache, you need to remember to reinstall the game ahead of November 9th/November 10th. It's going to take some time but it's going to be a whole lot better than loading up a game that doesn't work. Here's how to fix the problem:               Navigate to My Games & Apps. Find the title's tile in Games. With the tile highlighted, press the [Menu] button on your controller. Select Manage Game. In the Manage Game screen, select the storage device the game is currently installed to. Select Uninstall. Once the game has uninstalled, return to My Games & Apps. Scroll right to the "Ready to Install" section under Games. Highlight the title's tile. Press [A] to select. Choose Install. If you pre-ordered the game after October 27th, you should be good to go for the Xbox One Fallout 4 release next week.
