My first tablet was the legendary HP TC1100. Among its many thoughtfull touches were flip-down feet for use in tablet mode. I miss those feet -- they angled the unit just right, minimized glare, and created a pen-friendly angle for writing.

The other day, I bought a small rubber door wedge at the hardware store to try to replicate that footy feeling, and it worked! The material is grippy enough to create a secure, stable feel while angling the tablet perfectly! It's destined to become one of the most used items in my gear bag!

I have a different solution. I bought a three-ring binder with a rubbery surface. I removed the rings from the binder and lined it instead with bubble wrap. I store my tablet in the binder and the bubble wrap adds extra protection. When I want to use it, I take it out and place the tablet on the binder (which is at just the right angle for me). Dual-purpose.

    Eringatang,

Okay, that's a clever solution. And kinda funny in a strange, practical way. Somehow I'm gonna have one-up you on this one!

Hmm...maybe I could take off my shoe and use that to prop up my tablet...more later...

I have a similar solution. But I use of of these guys.

I do like your homemade solution though, very creative!

In the winter a good sock hat works well for this and I even use my trusty TI-86 on occasion. It has little rubber feet that work perfectly for this task.
