GottaBeMobile is putting someone in serious "Motion"!

Well, we mentioned a BIGGIE contest, and trust me, this one IS big!!! But it is also small -- but wait, don't get confused quite yet.

How about getting in "Motion" with a Motion Computing LS800 Ultra Mobile Tablet PC? In a partnership to help us launch the new GottaBeMobile.com discussion forums, Motion Computing has stepped up to the plate big time and is sponsoring a contest and putting up a brand new LS800 Ultra Mobile Tablet PC valued at over $2,200 as a prize in our "Make Me Mobile with Motion" contest! Do I hear wild screams of delight out there? Yes, I think I do!

Here's how to win. Put together a creative 800-1000 word essay for us on how adding a Motion LS800 to your life will make you more mobile and enhance your personal and/or professional life. Better yet, you ought to include BOTH aspects of life. When we say be creative, we mean VERY creative. For an LS800 prize valued at almost $2,200, you should be willing to work for it! Besides the essay, the use of creative art, video, pictures, whatever you can come up with will be considered within reason, but remember the main concern will be on how this device would influence your life in a positive way. We reserve the right to refuse anything too big or wild. Just remember that the emphasis will be on the essay.

By the way, this is not not just your base model LS800, this is a tricked out high end piece of mobility with lots of memory and hard drive space to spare! Here are the specs on this awesome prize:
    <UL>
<LI>Genuine Windows® XP Tablet PC Edition
    <LI>Intel® Centrino® MobileTechnology components:
    <LI>Mobile Intel® Pentium® M Processor ULV 753 (1.2GHz)
    <LI>Intel 915GMS Express Chipset
    <LI>Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG 802.11b/g networking
    <LI>1GB of DDR2 RAM
    <LI>60GB Hard drive
    <LI>8.4" SVGA TFT display
    <LI>Integrated Fingerprint Reader
    <LI>Integrated Bluetooth® and IrDA
    <LI>Integrated Ethernet
    <LI>Full-size digitizer pen
    <LI>One-year standard warranty</LI>[/list]

    The guidelines:
Like I said, 800-1000 words - no more or less will be accepted. The essay submission period will last for two weeks from Monday October 9th, until Sunday night, October 22nd. The GottaBeMobile team, along with representatives from Motion Computing will review the submissions and pick the top 5 that we like. Then, on October 27-29, we will run a poll on GottaBeMobile.com's new forum system and let you, our forum members vote for 3 days for the final winner. There will be 5 prizes, and all finalists will receive a prize, but of course only one Grand Prize will be given. We will announce the Grand prize winner on October 30th. Any taxes, fees, etc. are the responsibility of the prize recipients. Please note that due to shipping costs, duties and taxes, etc., this contest is only open to those residing in the United States.

Post your essay submissions to this "Make Me Mobile with Motion" thread by the deadline for consideration. Any questions about supporting files, etc. needed with your submission must be communicated to news@gottabemobile.com and approved by our team. So get to work, study the specs on this machine and figure out how you would utilize it in your life, and we may just be delivering it to your door!

Special thanks go to Motion Computing for sponsoring GottaBeMobile with this generous gesture. Good luck, and may the most mobile man or woman win!
    10/22/06 UPDATE:

Great stuff, folks! It is now time for judging - and man do we have our work cut out for us!
This topic is now closed, but stay tuned. The judges will pick the top 5 and then it will be time for you to vote for your favorite next week
    Stay Tuned!

    Now for the "legalese":

Have you read Stephen Covey?s 8th Habit?

    I was delighted by it.

Because it was not written by some mystical,
etherical spiritual teacher but by a more ?hands-on? man. Living in real life. Knowing
    his trade.

Just imagine: at the very end, it boils down to finding your
own voice (ATTENTION: here is NO full stop) AND HELP OTHERS FINDING THEIRS.
    (now the full stop)

What has that got to do with you? I hope you?ll answer that.

What has it got to do with me? It rephrases my own journey,
in a strong yet kind way.

What has it got to do with this contest?

Let me tell you all about it:

I have had the opportunity to have a scientific education,
doing my grades in maths and physics, and being proud or mad enough to go ahead
with this until my family called me back into their realms of trade and
fashion, buying and selling. Yet all this time this feeling that ?there might
be more do us than flesh, bone and some nice looking garments?.

As life was peeling off its dragon-skin in the year 2000 for
me, company down, house sold, divorce, I finally took the plunge and tried to
dare to journey towards ?my voice? finally. Leaving my country for good, delving
into my own inner realms as much as those of others. Working in a church,
helping the stranded on the benches outside and inside the church while actually
healing myself. Going to other countries, cultures.

Until I took the next step: whatever I?ve explored so far, bringing
forth to help others finding again their voice, happiness, inner peace. Via
means of listening, talking, doing Reiki or Shiatsu, teaching Zen or Yoga.

Now, all those are based on a philosophy that believes on
non-tangible life forces and energies. Whether they are transferred from this
delicious universe outside or the splendid one inside of our bodies and mind. They
build on intuition, intuition on the spot. And knowledge. And references to
past and future. At the end they will reflect in our body. It embraces
us. As much as I need stillness from time to time, my path is not to sit in the Himalayas
but put whatever is needed right into the hearts and minds of the people who
trust me. Who love me. Who I love.

A computer can hold references to thousands of new ideas and
help creating millions of new ones. It combines the power of all senses with
words, pictures, structured data and connectivity beyond dreams just a couple
    of years ago.

A TabletPC let me do all this in a natural way. Natural they
way I was brought up to write, with pen on paper. Natural to most people I
treat do feel when confronted with a TabletPC in comparison to a normal style
notebook. Where the uptilted display appears from time to time as a shield. Where
the attention while writing is shifting from the person opposite to the screen,
the keyboard (unfortunately I am no 10 finger typer, more 3-4). Just the
opposite of what my work is about. Opening up. Welcoming. Washing down barriers
between humans. Furthermore is it sometimes much easier to jot down the feelings
I during treatment with the help of drawings and colors.

Yet they still bear a problem for me. Living in a 12 million
city, going round in circles, crowded by not just too many cars, as well
drivers who just love to show their identity by disobeying any rules just the way
it comes to their head or hearts. Trying to stay mobile and avoiding driving a
car let to the one simple solution of riding a scooter. Lots of fresh air. Not
much storage room. For 15? laptops. 2 spare batteries. The 2nd
    charger. Mouse?.No Go.

It needs to be small. Handy, so to say. :-)

Reliable. Switch on: Go. Switch off: Hold.

Trustworthy, even in case if stolen. Very personal data on
it. Not just of me. As well the people I care about. And who put their trust in
me. Trust to be confidential. Trust to always do my best. Trust to be ready
anytime. And who love me not to be floating around the sky (or walking
above water for that matter J
) but to be here with them, right now, on Earth, with their problems, hopes and
fears. Understanding them not just from a 10.000ft high mountain peak but
rock-bottom feet-on-the-ground solution. Real Person. Real Life. Real tools.
    Strange methods maybe ;-)

Thus the MOTION LS800 had been my absolute favorite dream for improving this task, my work, my life-journey.
So small it not only fits into the ?trunk? of my Lilly (scooter), even so light
it may be carried around just everywhere. Or hold in one arm for quite some
    time without tiring.

Hours of usage, going beyond the regular 2-3h. I spent the
entire day moving around, from one place to another, one side of the city to
    the other.

Fingerprint secure. The energies might flow between me and
my customer. Not so the information of others.

No fancies, no thrill, just bare-bone effectivity.

Like the boy-scouts: Be prepared. True MOTION!

Sorry - looked right at it, and wishful thinking probably prevented me from perceiving it.

    Thanks Warner.
