Okay, so I've been trying to figure out a couple of problems since receiving my XT.

1- buttons do not work, period. None of the buttons on the monitor work, except for the power button. I've tried to download several drivers, but I don't know which one is the correct one and none have worked so far. When I got the XT the fingerprint scanner didn't work either, but I got the driver and program for that. Does anyone have a link for the correct drivers? I have all of the settings correct.

2- Screen will not rotate under any circumstances. When I first got the XT and turned the screen to slate mode the screen rotated one time, but since then it will not rotate. Even when I manually go to the tablet settings and select "change orientation" it doesn't work and I get an error: "The setting you requested cannot be supported. Open display in Control Panel, adjust the settings, and then try to change the orientation again." I've tried several different variations on the settings but nothing changes.

    Thanks ahead of time.

Don't know if this will help you, but I'm running XP and had the same problem with the rotation. Everything was working fine and then rotation stopped. No setting changes could make it rotate. Called tech support and it turned out that I had to uninstall the sp3 upgrade to XP. Tech walked me through the process. It took more time than it should have, but rotation is working again. Didn't have the button problem you're describing. Check to see if sp3 is installed and if it is, you should probably call tech support and have them walk you through it because I think I had to reinstall some drivers. Good luck!

I also just received my XT(refurb)(today finally whoohooo waited for that DHL truck to show up..anyway)
and my buttons are also not working, none of the black buttons, period. even those two buttons(the scroll and the back buttong on the bottom of the screen. I also tried reconfiguring the keys and whatnot on the tablet pc settings.

im not sure it suposed to show it as this andI really dont think so, but like for the diffrent rotations of the screen(on the tablet pc settings window, general tab) shows "@taboem.dll,-3008" and the "...-3009" "...-3010" and "...-3011" respectivly for the other 3 positions

and under the Buttons tab, in the list of tablet buttons it shows, "@taboem.dll,-3003" for "Open e-mail" function. and similar .dll names for the other tablet buttons

i think suring the reburb process forgot to install drivers or buttons or w/e

so idk... im not a computer wiz...lol
everything else seems fine so far

I think Quickset is the application you guys are looking for. You can download it in the drivers section of the dell website.

    Thanks SB,

My Quickset is in the system tray and still no buttons or screen rotation. I'm running xp but have vista, so I guess now's as a good a time as any to install it, hopefully that will work out some of the kinks. Smithers, I think you've nailed the problem, now that you mention it, the problem did start around the time I was installing sp3...Edited by: mfm028

I finally resolved my problem by installing the optional updates from that windows update center, there was one for the tablet buttons, and after two restarts it works perfectly! so ye can try that~
