Rob got a hold of specs on the Fujitsu 1610 that looks like it is due out in November.

I am in serious "lust" to get my hands on one of these. I imagine when an eval unit comes our way, there will be a Team GBM wrestling match to do an InkShow on it!

I really want a device of this form factor to use in my daily work life. I have been trying to use my eo i7210, but the lack of keyboard does not sit well with my network consulting business. I go from client site to client site, often needing to attach my machine to their network, so slate style does not work well for me. I have high hopes for this machine.

I really think 'lust' is not a strong enough word. : ) I'm ready to have a Fujitsu 'infinity' logo tatooed on my back as soon as this little gem is released.

Seriously, I used an LS800 for quite some time and loved the size, battery life and weight. But the killer was the lack of a keyboard. lugging around a stowaway keyboard defeated the portability aspect. I even considered trying out the Frogpad bluetooth keyboard.

This 'seems' like the perfect little machine for all my needs.

This will be my next purchase, now that I've "officially" dropped the notion of acquiring a DualCor cPC (you can only wait so long...). The specs of the new Lenovo look pretty good, but the smaller size of the Fujitsu wins out.

    Can't wait...

I agree with all comments posted. I can't wait to see what the handwriting looks like. Hugo's video definitely piqued my interest. I would have been more pleased if they went the route that Lenovo is going with the dual mode digitizer, but if Fujitsu can actually resolve the handwriting issue on the P1610, then I will easily go for that unit. The form factor and weight is amazing. I have several of the P1510D units here at work, and aside from the poor handwriting issue, the devices get high marks.

The one thing I'll miss with the active digitizer is the pressure sensitivity. Although, one complaint I had was that most SW didn't utilize this correctly. If this was adjustable via 'properties', then I missed that.

Hopefully the 'resting hand' effect will be properly taken care like Fujitsu claims.

How does erasing work on a passive touch screen? I don't think you'd be able to have an eraser on the end of the pen like some of the active ones have.

I didnt get the ls800 because of the screen resolution. I wanted one primarily for onenote, but even office 2007 onenote, with its screen maximizing function, couldnt fit enough info for me.

And so I came across the p1510. Tested it out a frys, and loved the form factor. But the screen just wasn't very good. Seemed like everything was washed out under flourescent lighting. This 1610 looks awesome though. The transreflective screen sounds like it will solve my problem.

I just picked a used p1510d up off of eBay. Switching from a Sony UX50 which wasn't quite big enough screenwise (not enough screen real estate to ink in Onenote07 with Ritepen). Looking forward to actual tabletPC and hoping the handwriting reports aren't as bad as I keep hearing.

I would wait for the 1610, but I have made a solemn vow to myself to earl adopt NO MORE... Looking forward to hearing user reports with the new one and I'll upgrade , well, when my checkbook says it can!
