I'm a OneNote SideNote junkie. I like to keep a SideNote window open at all times while I'm working, but unfortunately, as the day goes on it gets larger and often in the way. Here's my request. It might be cool if the window rolled up on it's own when not in use, leaving maybe just an icon showing, then, when you need it, you could hover over a hot spot and it would roll back down... That would solve the space problem in a big way...I'd be so loving that (:

I know it's not the same, but Evernote sort of works like that. I use Evernote on my desktop to keep a running phone log and to-do list handy.

Well, not really... I used to do the same thing. What I would do is use one of the programs that would do a window 'rollup'. I would just leave it running and 'rolled up' into the title bar of the window. All the ones I found (free) only work on XP and don't really work right with the new window's used in Vista. I was thinking of giving Actual Tools a try, but I haven't had the time yet. Plus, I like the 'free' aspect of the tools I used to use - and, that's all the program did, so it was lightweight in the memory usage.

Sorry I can't be of more help...

    Rainman,

Thanks for the tip, but I'm very happy with OneNote and have integrated it into both my work and personal life. I tried EverNote once, but didn't like the way ink was handled as much as I like ON.

    Matt,

That sounds like a good solution, but I'm a little suspect of programs that hook into the OS in that manner. I've used many in the past, but when things go wrong, they're the first thing to go. Maybe there will be a OneNote service pack 1 down the road and they'll consider this. As it stands, the SideNote is pretty brilliant, and coupled with the Outlook integration, OneNote has becomes the conduit that connects it all.

FeralBoy, you might want to look at WindowBlinds.

Not only do you get to apply some great looking skins, but many have functions like Window Rollup or Minimize to Tray built into the skin.

And the versions from the last couple years have been very light on resources.

Cool stuff - any ways to make it 'pen' friendly? Maybe add a buton to the left of the minimize button?? Maybe double click on the title bar? not sure - I couldn't get a custom pen flick to work by assigning F2
Other than that - Nice work!!
