Evernote is a great tool for students, and the note tracking and syncing service is even better for college students who can get a free year of Evernote Premium.

Evernote Premium adds a number of great features to the Evernote service, many of which college students will find as helpful as business professionals.

Students with a valid .edu address have until April 25th, 2012 to claim the free year of Evernote premium. The offer is open to current and new Evernote users. Evernote limits the deal to US college and university students. Evernote may asked to complete a survey about their usage during the free year of Evernote premium.

College Students who don’t use their .edu address in Evernote can change the email address in Personal Settings, before requesting the free year.

5 Reasons Students Need Evernote Premium

Evernote PremiumThe premium version of Evernote includes a number of great extras and features that fit the increasing amount of information that needs cataloged and recorded.

As a professor, I know students can benefit form uploading recorded notes, class handouts and accessing the previous versions of notes. PDF search and priority image recognition makes it possible for students to search the handouts I share and can recognize text in photos of in class exercises.

Offline access is also helpful for the occasional class or study session that takes place where WiFi is missing.

Finally, Evernote makes it simple to share and collaborate on notes, which helps with final exam prep and group project coordination.

Students can scan all their handwritten notes into Evernote for easy searching, so there’s no reason to complain about the arrival at the end of the academic year.

Evernote premium is normally $45 a year.
