Galaxy Note 10.1 Coming in June with Quad-Core Processor?

It appears that Samsung might not release the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 until June because it wants to upgrade the tablet with a Exynos quad-core processor.

The report comes from Korean newspaper IPD, by way of PocketDroid, which claims that the company won’t be releasing the bigger Galaxy Note model until summer.

Samsung will apparently outfit the tablet with a quad-core 1.5GHz Exynos processor, which would be a bump up from the 1.4GHz processor that Samsung originally said would arrive on the device.

The tablet was originally announced back at the Mobile World Congress in February and it will represent a larger version of the 5.3-inch Galaxy Note phablet that launched earlier this year on AT&T.

Like the smaller model, it will arrive with the company’s S-Pen stylus which allows users to manipulate items on the screen or write/draw directly on the display.

Other features include 1GB of RAM, HSPA+ support and three storage options. 16GB, 32GB and 64GB.

It will also run Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich right out of the box.

Samsung did not give the device a specific release date or any pricing when it first announced the tablet and it has yet to confirm either of those in the days since.

This is the second apparent delay for an upcoming Samsung tablet this week.

Earlier, we learned that the company’s upcoming Galaxy Tab 2 was delayed because Samsung wants to upgrade the tablet with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

In any event, it appears that those looking to get a next-generation Samsung tablet are going to have to wait.

I welcome the change in specs and the delay is not a problem.
2GB of RAM and artists everywhere will be over the moon.
More RAM is hugely needed when working with large canvas sizes and many layers. I really hope they go for 2GB.

What they really need is a higher screen resolution.
