Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy S3, Galaxy S4 Android 4.4.3 Updates Rumored

Published

on

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.4.2 KitKat updates remain unavailable for most users and some carriers say that they still haven’t received the software from Samsung. But that hasn’t stopped Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.4.3 KitKat rumors from surfacing and if the new information is accurate, we could also see Galaxy S5, Galaxy Note 3, and Galaxy S4 Android 4.4.3 KitKat updates as well.

Samsung’s Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.4 KitKat updates are just a few days old. In late April, the Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.4 KitKat update started pushing out for the first time. Last week, Sprint became the first carrier to offer the Galaxy S3 Android 4.4 KitKat update. And while a leaked schedule shows Samsung rolling out more Android 4.4 KitKat updates for both of these devices this month, it may not be Android 4.4.2 KitKat that rolls out, at least to some users.

While the Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 Android 4.4 KitKat update has been cancelled, rumors suggest that the Galaxy S3 LTE Android 4.4 KitKat update will push out sometime in May. At the moment, the Galaxy S3 Android 4.4 update is only available on Sprint though others have confirmed it for arrival.

Samsung’s Galaxy Note 2 update is available for one model in France and India but it still hasn’t landed anywhere else. Carriers have also confirmed the Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.4 update but none of them have received the update from Samsung, something that has pushed their ETAs to the month of June.

Nothing is set in stone but if new information is dead on, it could be because Samsung is working to deliver Android 4.4.3 KitKat instead of Android 4.4.2 KitKat.

Samsung Galaxy S5 vs Galaxy Note 3 - Screen Quality

According to Android Geeks, a site that is hit-or-miss with Android update information, Samsung is preparing Android 4.4.3 KitKat updates for the Galaxy S5, Galaxy S4, Galaxy S3, Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy Note 2, Galaxy Note 3 Neo, Galaxy Grand 2, and Galaxy Mega. It claims that Samsung may skip Android 4.4.2 for Android 4.4.3, at least for some devices.

Furthermore, the site claims that Samsung will start rolling out the Android 4.4.3 KitKat update this month and that it should roll out to most devices starting in June.

The reliable SamMobile claimed something similar earlier this week. The site claims that Samsung is indeed testing the Android 4.4.3 KitKat update and that it’s currently testing it for the Samsung Galaxy S5. The publication did not offer any release details. It’s not clear how these plans would affect carrier plans though there is potential to see a delay.

With Samsung’s Galaxy Note 2, Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy S4, and now Galaxy S3 Android 4.4.2 KitKat updates now pushing out, it’s entirely possible that Samsung will continue with those roll outs and move to Android 4.4.3 at a later date. The company typically does not confirm information ahead of time which means that we likely won’t know until the updates start pushing out.

Several Android 4.4 KitKat updates remain missing inside the United States. The Galaxy S4 Android 4.4 update has yet to reach owners on C Spire or MetroPCS and the Verizon Galaxy Note 3 Android 4.4 KitKat update remains elusive. It’s not clear how these rumors might affect those missing updates.

Android 4.4.3 KitKat is not a massive update but it is one that is expected to tackle many of the issues plaguing Android 4.4.2. Rumors suggested that the update would come with more than three dozen bug fixes and an official change log that was discovered today backs up those rumors. While the change log is now confirmed, its release date is missing in action.

The update has appeared numerous times in recent weeks though it remains unreleased. Rumors have all pointed to an arrival during the month of May but Google has yet to confirm its plans.

Android 4.4.3 KitKat leaks point to an arrival for a number of devices including the Nexus 4, Nexus 10, Nexus 5, Nexus 4, Moto X, Google’s Google Play Edition variants, the HTC One M7, and the HTC One M8. Leaks point to a release for the HTC One M7 and HTC One M8 sometime during May or June.

This new Android 4.4 update might roll out just weeks before the arrival of a brand new Android update. Rumors suggest that Google could be planning an Android 4.5 update alongside a brand new Nexus tablet, rumored to be the Nexus 8.

Android 4.5 rumors are scarce though Nexus 8 rumors continue to surface. In fact, Google itself has fueled rumors of an HTC-made Nexus 8. Google is set to kick off Google I/O in June though rumors suggest that the company could once again skip its annual developer conference and launch these new products in June. Last year, the company debuted both the Nexus 7 and the Android 4.3 KitKat update a month after it took the stage at Google I/O.

The Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3 would almost certainly get a new Android update. The prospects of another major Android update for the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 is up for debate due to their age.

Another unreadable article. Hope GottaBeMobile is paid per ad show instead of per click, as noone is going to stay to read the article due to it’s pure Google trollness.

Perhaps just to get page views and make money off of ads, but please stop reporting on 1) rumors, especially when 4.4.3 isn’t even out yet, and 2) making an article everyday/ever few hours saying the same exact thing (which isn’t much), with a rebranded title. Just my three cents

I have a galaxy note three, I remember when I first got it and received my first text, it woke up my screen and on the lock screen it had the first few sentences of that text, when another one came go that one was displayed underneath the first sort of go a list form. it is a lot like the apple phones How the message is displayed on their lock screen. Anyways so after spending time on the phone and customizing it, I must have turned something off because now it doesn’t do that. Now all I see is my lock screen pic. Can anyone help me navigate How to put this feature back on? lol sorry I tried not to be confusing! Thanks so much!
