Galaxy Note 3 vs. HTC One max Battle Closer Than Ever

Published

on

The upcoming battle between the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and the rumored HTC One max is now closer than ever as several rumors point to an HTC One max launch taking place in the middle of October, several weeks after the Galaxy Note 3 hits shelves in the United States.

For months, rumors have suggested a battle between the very official 5.7-inch Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and a challenger in the 6-inch HTC One max, a larger version of the company’s HTC One, the company’s flagship smartphone that landed earlier this year to take on the Samsung Galaxy S4, Samsung’s other flagship device.

The devices have been pictured next to each other and their specifications have been matched up ahead of launch. And fortunately for those that have been weighing the two devices, their battle on shelves appears to be imminent.

The HTC One max launch, in the past, has been rumored for October and today, a flurry of reports suggest that HTC is gearing up for an HTC One max launch in the middle of the month. Pocket-lint claims that the device will be out on October 15th and the generally reliable ETrade suggests that the device will land on October 17th in Taiwan.

These dates are said to be announcement dates, not release dates, so it looks like the HTC One max may be arriving sometime after its mid-October debut. If true, it will mean that the Galaxy Note 3 will have been on shelves for several weeks in Europe and in the United States where it is scheduled to touch down in early October.

AT&T will kick things off on October 1st and the Galaxy Note 3 will then head to T-Mobile (October 2nd), Sprint (October 4th) and Verizon, the latter of which will be shipping the device out by October 10th. U.S. Cellular, the nation’s fifth largest carrier, still hasn’t confirmed a release date.

The HTC One max has been rumored for major carriers in the United States with Sprint and Verizon both mentioned in the past. A release date, however, remains unknown.

HTC’s One max will be arriving with a large 1080p display, a quad-core processor, an Ultrapixel camera like the one found on the HTC One, Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and a new version of Sense, Sense 5.5, which despite leaks, remains a bit mysterious.

It’s not clear how much the company will charge for the HTC One max. The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 retails for $299.99 on-contract in the U.S., though, it comes bundled with an S Pen stylus.

Add five months for release on Verizon. I’ll stick with the Note 3.

Can’t help but laugh at this Htc One Max. Trust me it won’t compare to any Galaxy Note 3 that’s for sure.

U ain’t jokin, that’s for sure. So disappointed in HTC these days. Beats Audio & BoomSound are great, but where’s the 3GB of RAM? The removable battery? The sd card slot? I won’t even mention the missing stylus…….

Never wanted Samsung-even though the Galaxy S4 is very nice-’cause I only got with HTC, starting with the HD2, then EVO, EVO 3D, & E
