New photos appear to show off the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 next to the HTC One max, giving prospective buyers a glimpse at how the Galaxy Note 3 design should stack up next to the larger HTC One max.

Rumors suggest that HTC will be releasing a large-screen Samsung Galaxy Note 3 competitor at some point in the fourth quarter, a competitor dubbed the HTC One max. HTC One max rumors have pegged the device as having some powerful hardware including a 1080p display, Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and a new version of Sense dubbed Sense 5.5. The device’s design appears to be modeled after the other HTC One models including the original HTC One and the HTC One mini.

Rumors suggest that the HTC One max could be headed to all major markets, including the United States, where Sprint has already been rumored to be at least one of the carriers offering it.

The device and its large screen, said to be 5.9-inches, are likely going to be aimed at the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 as HTC looks to take away from Samsung’s success and ahead of their respective release dates, we appear to have a glimpse at what the two devices will look like side-by-side.

Thanks to a user on Chinese microblogging site Weibo, first spotted by SimOnlyRadar, we now have a look at how the Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Note 2 stack up compared to the HTC One max from a design standpoint.

From the looks of things, the HTC One max appears to be larger than both the Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy Note 3. The Galaxy Note 2 employs a 5.5-inch display and the Galaxy Note 3 uses a 5.7-inch display. The overall footprint of the HTC One max design appears to be larger than the 168 gram, 8.3mm thin Galaxy Note 3, though it’s not clear how much bigger it is.

The devices appear to be headed for a head-to-head showdown sometime later this year though the Galaxy Note 3 should hit shelves first. More than 140 countries are expected to release the Galaxy Note 3 on September 25th and the Galaxy Note 3 is slated to touch down in the United States starting on October 1st.

HTC has a tall order ahead of it as the Galaxy Note series is a well-known brand name and the Galaxy Note 3 delivers a ton of big time features including a bundled S Pen stylus, speedy processor, solid camera, faux leather back, and more.

The benchmark shows an AnTuTu 4 and a 2600 or so score which confirms the Snapdragon 600 chipset..Basically same as HTC One score…Note 3 for Verizon it is.

Meh. The HTC’s design language and choice of a metal case may appeal to some, but I’m not seeing anything here that’s going to pull me away from getting a Note 3 with it’s S-pen and multitude of features.

Huge error on HTC’s part not to include a sylus. Who’s running things over there?
