on

While it looked like the AT&T Galaxy S5 Lollipop update would become the carrier’s first Galaxy Android 5.0 upgrade, that honor actually goes to its Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Lollipop update. Today, the AT&T Galaxy Note 4 update started to roll out and with that in mind, we want to take a look at what users need to know about AT&T’s first major Galaxy Android 5.0 Lollipop release.

In December, Samsung started pushing out its Galaxy S5 Lollipop update. In the weeks that followed, several US carriers pushed out their versions of the Galaxy S5 Lollipop release. Several weeks ago, AT&T confirmed the arrival of its Galaxy S5 Lollipop update and many believed that it would be first in line, just like it was on Verizon, Sprint and others. As it turns out, AT&T had different plans.

In a bit of a surprise, AT&T’s become the second US carrier to push out a Galaxy Note 4 Lollipop update joining Sprint as the only two carriers to have one available. The update comes as a bit of a surprise given that AT&T’s Galaxy S5 Lollipop update is still unreleased and given that the carrier didn’t confirm a release or any pertinent details in the buildup up to the roll out.
