11 Galaxy Note 4 Release Date Predictions (U.S.)

Published

on

With the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 release date just days away for most countries including the United States, we want to take a close look at the remaining details. Today, ahead of its release, we want to make some Galaxy Note 4 release date predictions that touch on everything from the dates themselves to carriers to its price point.

Samsung’s new Galaxy Note 4 is an impressive smartphone and one that comes loaded with high-powered specs including a 5.7-inch Quad HD display, a brand new 16MP camera with Optical Image Stabilization, a new S Pen stylus, Android 4.4.4 KitKat software that’s backed by TouchWiz, a brand new design that comes with both plastic and metal materials, and a whole lot more.

It will replace the Galaxy Note 3 as Samsung’s flagship Galaxy Note and it will be joined later in the year by a brand new Samsung Galaxy Edge, a high-end flagship that is also coming to the United States and several other countries around the globe. While the Galaxy Note Edge has attracted a lot of attention, the Galaxy Note 4 will serve as the company’s mass produced, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus competitor.

In the weeks since the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 announcement in early September, we’ve seen a ton of new Galaxy Note 4 release date details emerge for buyers in the U.S. and all over the world. The past three weeks in particular have been exciting because we’ve seen Galaxy Note 4 release dates confirmed, Galaxy Note pre-orders begin, and Galaxy Note 4 price information emerge. There are, however, still some unknowns.

With Galaxy Note 4 release dates just days away, we want to make some final Galaxy Note 4 release date predictions. Here are eleven things we think will happen in the days ahead.

Galaxy Note 4 Pre-Orders Arrive Early

We expect many Samsung Galaxy Note 4 pre-orders to arrive earlier than their announced release date. In the United States, AT&T has already said that pre-orders will begin shipping by October 14th, three days before its street date. What this means is that it could arrive several days ahead of time for AT&T customers.

We would not be surprised if other carriers like T-Mobile followed suit. Sprint and T-Mobile have pushed pre-orders ahead of release dates several times in the past and it’s clear that these carriers are ready to go after a lengthy pre-order process.

If you’re set on the Galaxy Note 4 and you want it as soon as possible, put in a pre-order because there’s a very good chance you’ll get it ahead of the listed release date. Carriers are ready to go.

Plentiful Galaxy Note 4 Stock

We don’t expect any sell outs. We saw Korean carriers run out of early Galaxy Note 4 pre-orders but those were very limited. We rarely see Android devices go out of stock and we’re confident that the Galaxy Note 4 will remain in stock at U.S. carriers, at U.S. retailers and at retailers and carriers around the world. Samsung’s supply chain is among the best and the Galaxy Note 4 is a niche phone. This Galaxy Note release should be as smooth as the previous ones.

Verizon Galaxy Note 4 Release Date: Oct. 17th

Verizon’s Galaxy Note 4 release date is listed for October 23rd on Amazon. The carrier also notes that it will begin shipping out Galaxy Note 4 models by October 23rd. The date is strange given that Verizon confirmed an October 17th release date back in September.

The only thing we can think of is that the in-store release date is October 17th and the online release date is October 23rd. It does make some sense because there’s incentive for Verizon to push people into stores. The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are both out, the LG G3 is a hot phone, and it loves to sell people on accessories. We should note that Verizon Galaxy Note 4 cases have yet to show up on Verizon’s website.

Note-4-Design-2

We can’t see Verizon pushing the Galaxy Note 4 release date a week without any warning and with a release less than two weeks away, we expect buyers to be able to pick up the device in some capacity on October 17th.

U.S. Cellular Galaxy Note 4 Pre-Orders

Speaking of odd, the U.S. Cellular Galaxy Note 4 release is a strange one. The carrier has confirmed a number of details but it has yet to offer a pre-order or confirm any pricing. At this point, we doubt the carrier offers Galaxy Note 4 pre-orders, there would really be no point.

If it does, we imagine that they will be announced alongside the price, something that the carrier will need to confirm ahead of its Galaxy Note 4 release date on October 17th. We do not expect any pre-orders with just 10 days to go but stranger things have happened.

U.S. Cellular Galaxy Note 4 Price

U.S. Cellular’s Galaxy Note price tags have always matched its competitors. With the Galaxy Note 4 priced at $299.99 on-contract and $700 and up off-contract, we expect the carrier to match its rivals. Look for the carrier to release the device for $300 on-contract and somewhere between $700 and $800 off-contract.

No New Galaxy Note 4 Carriers

We’ve said this before and we’ll say it again. We highly doubt that the Galaxy Note 4 winds up on any other carriers but the big five. Smaller carriers like C Spire and Cricket have not shown a willingness to carry a niche device like the Galaxy Note and we don’t see that changing with the Galaxy Note 4.

Galaxy Note 4 Features - Sensors

We haven’t seen any other models pass through the FCC and we would have seen other carriers confirm plans by now. Look for the Galaxy Note 4 release date to remain limited on October 17th and beyond.

Pink & Gold Galaxy Note 4 Release Weeks After Launch

On stage in September, Samsung announced four Galaxy Note 4 colors including white, black, gold, and pink. The white and black models will be the first to roll out and those colors are confirmed for AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon. U.S. Cellular hasn’t confirmed any colors yet though we expect it to when it announces the price.

It usually takes several weeks for Samsung to get its other colors out and so we expect the gold and pink models to hit the United States, and other regions, weeks if not months after the Galaxy Note 4 arrives on October 17th. We’d think that Samsung would get the gold option out before the end of the year to maximize holiday sales though everything depends on production.

We do not anticipate any exclusives for these two colors.

Big Galaxy Note 4 Deals in November

We haven’t seen any blockbuster Galaxy Note 4 deals yet and we don’t expect them to arrive until the month of November, the same month that houses Black Friday and the start of the holiday shopping season.

A premium design and Quad HD Galaxy Note 4 display does not command a higher price.

A premium design and Quad HD Galaxy Note 4 display does not command a higher price.

We’re confident that retailers like Amazon will start dropping the Galaxy Note 4 price down after a few weeks of it being on shelves, making it a more attractive to devices like the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus and LG G3. When it arrives, the Galaxy Note 4 will be one of the most expensive smartphones money can buy so we think we’ll see extensive price cuts for the holidays.

Look for most deals to start in November and to pick up as the months go on. Older Android smartphones typically find themselves in the bargain bin after three or four months.

Galaxy Note 4 Accessories

We think there will be a healthy selection of Galaxy Note 4 accessories available on release day though we found when we were selecting the most exciting Galaxy Note 4 cases, most top of the line products will probably be a few weeks away at best. Case makers simply haven’t rolled out tons of options this time around though we should still see some exciting cases emerge in October.

Note-4-5

Look for quality, and quantity, to improve as we push deeper into the year. Accessory makers will likely do their best to get their wares out in time for the holidays and Black Friday, one of the biggest shopping days of the year.

Gear VR Release This Year

The Gear VR, the virtual reality headset slash accessory that’s slated to arrive for the Galaxy Note 4 should be out sometime this year. All signs point to an arrival in time for the holiday shopping rush though the details point to an expensive accessory that could cost as much as the Galaxy Note 4 itself. Nothing is set in stone but we’d be surprised if this device missed the holidays and the peak Galaxy Note 4 market.

Galaxy Note Edge Release in Close Proximity

Finally, we think that Samsung’s other Galaxy Note, the Galaxy Note Edge, will arrive soon after the Galaxy Note 4. Current information points to an arrival in some regions at the end of October with others getting it in November. We’re expecting Samsung to get this device out before the end of November and thus, predict that it will land at some point in early-to-mid-November in the United States.

Note4-edge-main

Look for Galaxy Note Edge release date details to continue to trickle out as we get closer to the end of October and as we push away from the Galaxy Note 4 release date.

I though the whole reason to pre-order the Note 4 was so that we could get it on the 17th. Now it looks like verizon won’t ship until the 23rd. What’s the point in being with the number one carrier. Very disappointed verizon.

Prediction was off. The Note is sold-out everywhere. No one has any stock. I’ve been trying to hunt one down for 2 days, and all anyone keeps telling me is that the stock they get goes directly to pre-orders. So, yeah…you were wrong.
