Galaxy Note 5 vs Nexus 6: What We Know So Far

Software & S-Pen

The software will be key here for many buyers. One being stock Android and fast updates to Android M with the Nexus 6, but that's about all it offers in terms of software. But that isn't a bad thing. Some love the simple experience.

On the Note 5 side, there's a lot to enjoy. The S-Pen stylus will bring plenty to the table, allow for additional content creation, and it will likely arrive with Android 5.1 Lollipop and eventually be updated to Android M, but not before the Nexus 6 gets it first.

Google's devices get priority, and that could be factor for some, even though they'll both end up with Android M eventually. That said, Samsung's TouchWiz software allows for multi-screen mode for better multitasking, we'll have a better fingerprint scanner for enhanced security, and a lot of additions that stock Android simply don't employ.

If you just want a huge screen none of that really matters, but the Note 5 will still be nearly one year newer and probably better and faster.
