Galaxy Note 5 vs Nexus 6: What You Need to Know

Software & Stylus

Another big area of concern is around software. Not everyone likes stock pure Android we get on Nexus devices, but then there are also millions who hate Samsung's bloated TouchWiz interface that covers pure stock Android.

Both phones run Android 5.1.1 Lollipop right now, but those who want to try Android 6.0 Marshmallow on the Nexus 6 can try it now, while the release isn't set for late September or early October. The Nexus 6 will get updates faster, that's for sure.

That said, the Note 5 has an S-Pen stylus for content creation, tons of unique features like writing with the screen off, taking notes and more. If you want a big screen but also want to use a device for business, the Note 5 is perfect. If you're simply looking for a big screen and don't need the stylus, the Note 5 is still great, but the Nexus 6 is worth considering.
