Galaxy Note Edge Lollipop Release Details Confirmed

Published

on

New Samsung Galaxy Note Edge Lollipop release details have been confirmed for users in the United States as one Galaxy Note Edge Android 5.0 Lollipop has finally inched closer to its release.

Earlier this year, Samsung started rolling out its Galaxy Note Edge Lollipop update. The update, the first major update for Samsung’s curved version of the Galaxy Note 4, delivers new features and enhancements to the device that arrived at the tail end of last year with Google’s Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating system on board.

Slowly but surely, Samsung’s sped up its Galaxy Note Edge Lollipop roll out including here in the United States where the update has landed for the Sprint Galaxy Note Edge and U.S. Cellular Galaxy Note Edge. The update is also confirmed for the AT&T Galaxy Note Edge though the software does not appear to have rolled out just yet. Verizon hasn’t announced anything.

Today, one of the missing Galaxy Note Edge Lollipop updates in the United States is showing progress towards its eventual release. The T-Mobile Galaxy Note Edge Lollipop update has finally moved from the “Manufacturer Development” phase to the carrier’s “T-Mobile Testing” phase which means that the software is currently in for internal testing.

T-Mobile’s internal testing process is extremely unpredictable though it typically doesn’t take more than a few weeks to complete. Once the internal testing is complete, the carrier will roll the update out to the public-at-large. So, in other words, it should only be a matter of time before the carrier issues two of its remaining Galaxy Android 5.0 Lollipop updates.

The Magenta carrier is also poised to roll out a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Lollipop update and it’s possible that it will roll out these two in close proximity of one another. We’ve seen other carriers take a similar route with their Galaxy Note 4 Lollipop release. T-Mobile’s Galaxy Note 4 Lollipop update has been in carrier testing for a number of days now and should be progressing towards a public release. T-Mobile is the only carrier yet to issue a Galaxy Note 4 Lollipop update.

The new T-Mobile Galaxy Note Edge Lollipop release details come on the heels of a number of other Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge Lollipop release details including new roll outs and delays. In Australia, Vodafone was forced to push its Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge Lollipop updates back due to problems in the testing process. The carrier and Samsung are now investigating the issues and it’s not clear when the new software will roll out to device users.

Samsung’s Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge Lollipop upgrades continue to make huge strides in the weeks after their release. The two updates, which were both beaten by roll outs to the Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy S4, are among several Lollipop updates that Samsung is currently rolling out to its smartphone and tablet users.

The company is currently pushing updates to the Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy S4, Galaxy Alpha, Galaxy S5, and the Galaxy Tab S series of tablets. Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S 10.4 Lollipop update recently landed in the Netherlands.

Still, all of these updates have a long way to go before Samsung completes them. Samsung’s Galaxy smartphones and tablets are found in a number of different regions on a number of different carriers and it typically takes the company a number of months to get new software out to users around the world.

Samsung is rumored to be working on a brand new Android 5.1 Lollipop release for the Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge and at least one other device but it’s not clear if it will be heading to Samsung’s older devices. We expect Samsung to at least get close to completing its current roll outs before it moves on to another version of Android 5.0.

I just got note edge today. I have the option to get galaxy s6, s6 edge or keep note edge thru Verizon. I’m just so happy to have a Samsung again. The sales I told me today that when i activate the note edge it will update to the latest software lollipop. well it didn’t so I’ve been on the phone all day trying to figure out why Samsung says that Verizon supposed to do it Verizon says they can’t guarantee that it’s even going to get it so now I don’t know what to do because I really like this phone but I want to have the latest operating system as well so do I bring this one so d and get the galaxy s6 edge or keep this one and hope it gets updated. Samsung called Verizon for me the store then I got this one at and they have agreed to wave the fees to restock and to take back the case I purchased for it and let me get the other one. What should I do?
