Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean Update Roll Out Continues

Published

The Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update is rolling out once again in the United Kingdom and says that this version of the update will alleviate some of the issues that the previous version of the Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update brought upon owners of the aging flagship.

In November, Samsung started rolling out the Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update to its users, starting with upgrades in the United Kingdom, the same region that was the first to get the device all the way back in May of last year. And while the update promised a host of enhancements and features including Galaxy Gear support, it also brought a number of bugs along with it as well.

Almost immediately, we started hearing about issues afflicting Galaxy S3 users in the UK, issues that in some cases, made the device completely unusable. Samsung rather quickly acknowledged the issues and a short time later, Samsung UK announced that it had shut down the Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean roll out so that it could investigate the problems.

A short time ago, after several days of waiting, the company announced that the Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update is once again rolling out in the United Kingdom and that it should come with fixes for those that have been dealing with issues since the software initially rolled out at the beginning of last month. Problem is, the timing is going to vary from carrier-to-carrier meaning while some users will get the Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 update and its fixes in the short term, others could have a bit of a wait ahead of them.

The Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update in the United States reportedly has bugs on board as well though those issues don’t compare to the problems that were found lurking on the update in the United Kingdom and thus, probably won’t command Samsung’s full attention. In fact, the Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update roll out is still not over in the U.S.

Verizon’s Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update remains missing and the carrier still hasn’t dished on when it will become available to its users. Originally, the update was believed to be coming out in the month of November but the carrier, for unknown reasons, delayed it. Verizon typically doesn’t announce release dates earlier so Verizon Galaxy S3 owners will simply have to wait in the dark for it to arrive.

I have got to say that the use of ‘quickly’ in your article is misleading. It took Samsung UK nearly three weeks to even acknowledge there were any issues and that was via a standard copy and paste response. Also the ‘few days’ wait for the alternative update was in fact nearer five weeks and in some cases still waiting. Samsungs customer service is appalling and to get any response from them has taken hundreds of people posting on their Facebook page. They have lost a lot of customers because this debacle.
