The Samsung Galaxy S4 Android 4.4.2 KitKat update continues to roll out even as rumors point to the arrival of a Galaxy S4 Android 4.4.3 KitKat upgrade in the weeks ahead.

Since February, the Samsung Galaxy S4 Android 4.4 KitKat update has been rolling out for various regions and for several different versions of the Galaxy S4. The update has landed for several variants of the original Galaxy S4 and it has also spread to devices that possesses the Samsung Galaxy S4 name, devices like the Galaxy S4 Active.

Today, the update has landed for another version of the Galaxy S4, the Samsung Galaxy S4 mini, a device that launched several months after the original Galaxy S4 and a device that is essentially a smaller, less powerful version of last year’s Galaxy S4 flagship.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 mini Android 4.4.2 KitKat update is rolling out now to the LTE version of the black variant that emerged in select markets earlier this year. According to SamMobile, the update appears to be limited to Belgian users though we expect the update to start spreading out to other Galaxy S4 mini owners in the weeks ahead.

This Galaxy S4 mini Android 4.4.2 KitKat update in particular appears to be available over Samsung Kies, the software that allows Galaxy users to install Android updates through the use of their PC.

Samsung’s Galaxy S4 mini Android 4.4.2 KitKat update is expected to push out to other owners sometime this month though that still hasn’t been confirmed. And because it hasn’t been confirmed, it means that the update could perhaps land outside of the month of June if testing isn’t up to snuff. Software release dates are dependent on internal testing which means that their release dates will often shift from the initial target date.

Canadian carrier Rogers claims that it will roll out the Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S3 mini KitKat upgrades in the near future but the carrier, like other carriers, has not committed to a specific date.

The Galaxy S4 mini Android 4.4 KitKat update roll out starts amidst the company’s roll out for the larger version of the Galaxy S4. The Galaxy S4 Android 4.4 KitKat update recently landed for a number of devices in Europe though it remains missing for several devices including the Galaxy S4 variants on MetroPCS and C Spire Wireless in the United States.

Several international carriers have confirmed Samsung Galaxy S4 Android 4.4 KitKat upgrades for June and some have even pushed their roll out dates into July.

The remaining Galaxy S4 Android 4.4 KitKat upgrades are expected to deliver Android 4.4.2 KitKat and not the Android 4.4.3 KitKat update that was recently released for Nexus users and an update that delivers bug fixes to tackle Android 4.4.2 KitKat problems.

Samsung is rumored to have Android 4.4.3 KitKat in development for two devices in particular. Leaks point to Galaxy S5 and Galaxy S4 Android 4.4.3 KitKat updates. The Galaxy S5 Android 4.4.3 KitKat upgrade will evidently arrive sometime this month while the Galaxy S4 Android 4.4.3 KitKat update could land in July.

The Galaxy S4 Android 4.4.3 KitKat update is apparently headed to the LTE-A version of the device though it’s still not clear if the update will land for the regular Galaxy S4, the Galaxy S4 Active or the Galaxy S4 mini. It’s still not clear what the software will have on board for Galaxy S5 and Galaxy S4 owners though bug fixes and enhancements are likely.

Android 4.4.3 KitKat arrives just days before Google I/O, Google’s annual developer conference that has served as the launch pad for new hardware and Android software. Rumors suggest that Google has a new Nexus 8 tablet and a new Android update up its sleeve but neither product has been confirmed for arrival.
