Galaxy S5, Galaxy Note 4 Lollipop Release Details Confirmed

New Samsung Galaxy S5 and Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Lollipop update release details continue to emerge at a breakneck pace and today, two carriers have confirmed several new details that should have Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Note 4 users excited.

As we push deeper into the new year, we’re starting to see Samsung make significant progress with its Android 5.0 Lollipop deployment. The Samsung Galaxy S5 Lollipop is currently pushing out to two of the company’s international variants and it’s also begun to pick up steam inside the United States where it’s available on Sprint and Verizon.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Lollipop update remains unreleased but it’s also gaining ground as carriers continue to confirm its arrival ahead of time. Both of these updates are expected to make a strong push in the early part of the year.

Today, we’ve unearthed a treasure trove of new Galaxy S5 Lollipop update and Galaxy Note 4 Lollipop update details. While U.S. carriers remain silent about their plans, carriers in the international community continue to release Android 5.0 Lollipop details well in advance.

French carrier SFR today confirmed plans to roll the Galaxy S5 Lollipop update by the end of February. Specifically, the carrier says that it will push the Galaxy S5 Lollipop update live in late February though it fails to confirm a specific date. This falls in line with its current Android update timeline that puts both the Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Note 4 Lollipop updates within the confines of this month. It says it will be available through an OTA update or through Samsung Kies.

Canadian carrier Rogers also confirms a number of new Android 5.0 Lollipop details. The carrier, known for confirming Android update information well in advance, says that its Samsung Galaxy S5 Lollipop update will be “coming soon.” It doesn’t outline a specific date but it’s safe to assume that we’re very close to a roll out.

The carrier also says that it’s planning to roll out a Samsung Galaxy S5 Active Lollipop update. This is the first time that we’ve seen the Galaxy S5 Active Android 5.0 update confirmed anywhere and it’s a great sign for those that own the device outside of Canada’s borders. The carrier simply says that a release date is “To Be Determined” and we expect it to roll out after the regular Galaxy S5 gets its fix.

What’s more is that the carrier also confirms a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Lollipop update. This is one of only a couple of carrier confirmations that we’ve seen for this device and it confirms a Galaxy Note 4 Lollipop update for Canada. Unfortunately, the carrier says that the release date is “TBD.” We’ve heard that the Galaxy Note 4 Lollipop update was delayed due to code for the Gear VR accessory but we still expect it to roll out sometime in the beginning of the year.

These new details come just a few days after Samsung started rolling out both the Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3 Lollipop updates in the United States. Both of those updates are currently pushing out to the international variants in Russia. They remain extremely limited though it’s clear that Samsung is going to be pushing them out in other parts of the world in the future.

Sprint’s working on a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Lollipop update. The Sprint Galaxy Note 3 Lollipop update for the SM-N900P is listed as Android 5.0 and not Android 5.0.1. The listing doesn’t confirm anything else but it does point to a release at some point in the future, probably after the carrier is done pushing the update out to the flagship Galaxy S5.

Samsung’s also expected to roll out Lollipop updates to the Galaxy Note Edge, Galaxy Alpha, Galaxy Note 2, and the Samsung Galaxy S5 mini, a smaller version of the Galaxy S5. Release dates for those devices remain unknown.

You guys put a new article out every few days with the mostly same “Note 4 release dates confirmed” title. Then when I read it, it’s the same old story rehashed. How bout holding off the announcement until you really have some news. It’s making me not trust your site for news any more. This article should have been titled, “Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Lollipop Release STILL Unconfirmed” Thank you

I can’t believe I clicked on it again. Every couple days the same thing, just the same shit worded differently. It’s basically a couple paragraphs of “Hey, we don’t know anything and nothing has changed since the last article but it’s coming.”
I guess ad revenue is down so they need more click bait. How about waiting till something is actually new or updated. We get it, lollipop is coming eventually.
