Galaxy S6 Release Date Reportedly Coming Early

Published

on

The Samsung Galaxy S6 release date will reportedly arrive a few weeks earlier than normal with a date that could fall in the month of March rather than in the month of April like the last two Galaxy S releases.

For the past two years, Samsung’s used a very similar approach to the release of its yearly Galaxy S smartphone release. The Galaxy S4 was announced in New York in March ahead of a release in April while the Galaxy S5 debuted at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain in late February ahead of a release in April.

Samsung Galaxy S6 launch date rumors point to an arrival at Mobile World Congress 2015 at the beginning of March and it appears that the Galaxy S6 release date could arrive just a few short weeks after the announcement.

Samsung Galaxy S6 - Exciting Tech 2015

A report from Korean publication ETNews suggests that the Galaxy S6 release date will come early and that the company will start to see sales of its 20MP camera with OIS grow because of it. The Galaxy S6 is rumored to have a 20MP camera on board with Optical Image Stabilization, technology found on its current Galaxy Note flagship, the Galaxy Note 4.

The report specifically says that the Galaxy S6 release date will emerge “2-3 weeks” earlier than normal which would potentially put a Galaxy S6 release date in late March or early April. This aligns with an early Galaxy S6 rumor from another Korean publication Daum that put the Samsung Galaxy S6 release date in March. The report did not outline a specific date.

Samsung Galaxy S6 launch date rumors continue to point to an arrival on March 2nd at MWC 2015, just a day after HTC is expected to show off its HTC One M9 successor. That date is not confirmed and likely won’t be until Samsung sends out media invites for an event. Samsung typically uses a grand stage to announce its Galaxy S smartphone and it usually sends out media invites a month ahead of time.

Daum also suggests that the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 release date is slated for August, much earlier than the Galaxy Note 4 release date that landed for many consumers in the month of October. Samsung Galaxy Note 5 rumors are scarce though early rumors suggest that it could employ an Ultra HD display to replace the Quad HD technology on the Galaxy Note 4.

Before that, Samsung’s expected to release a powerful upgraded version of the Galaxy S. The Samsung Galaxy S6 specs sheet is beginning to come together though it’s not clear if the company has settled on one of the prototypes its reportedly juggling behind the scenes. Galaxy S6 specs rumors have not yet aligned, a sign that the company could still be debating what to include on board the iPhone 6 challenger.

Expect the Galaxy S6 to be a mash up of the Galaxy S5, Note 4 and new features.

Galaxy S6 rumors point to a collection of high-powered specifications including a souped up Quad HD display, Exynos 64-bit processor, 16-20MP camera with Optical Image Stabilization, a new design that employs premium materials perhaps aluminum or glass, wireless charging, and a release on all five major carriers in the United States which includes AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular, and Verizon.

The AT&T model recently showed up in a User Agent Profile string showcasing Quad HD resolution. While the UA Prof does not confirm the arrival of the Galaxy S6, the fact that the model number matches the Galaxy S6 model numbers that have leaked out numerous times in recent weeks makes it increasingly likely that Ma Bell will once again be on board with Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S smartphone.

Look for Galaxy S6 rumors to continue in the weeks ahead as Samsung makes its final launch preparations.
