Camera & Battery Life

With the Galaxy S8 buyers will get double the storage, perfect for taking tons of photos or 4K video. Not to mention being able to add a microSD card for more space.

Speaking of the camera, last year Samsung made a big change here. Going down from a 16 megapixel camera to a 12 Dual Pixel sensor in the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. It had a larger sensor that captured more light, a fast f/1.7 aperture, and used all the pixels to have one of the fastest auto-focus systems on the market. The results were one of the best smartphone cameras ever released. Often beating out the iPhone in independent tests.

The Galaxy S6 Edge Plus is a 16MP camera. You might think the 12MP camera in the S8 is a smaller number, but that doesn't make photos any better. In fact the Galaxy S8 has a larger sensor that's faster and captures more light, a great image stabilization system and will take far better photos in any situation. The front shooter is better too. Now being 8 megapixels instead of 5.

Another thing we want to mention once more is the battery. The S6 Edge Pus has a 3,000 mAh battery. Which is the same size as the Galaxy S8. So that might not be an upgrade. The S8+ though, is better. The 6.2-inch Galaxy S8+ has a bigger 3,500 mAh battery. Combine that with the latest Android 7.0 and a new processor, it should last longer than ever before.  Not to mention extremely fast USB Type-C charging will have you from 0-80% in 35 minutes. Battery life won't be an issue on the Galaxy S8+.
