GBM Podcast #73: Talking Tons of Tech
When Xavier and I sat down to record this podcast we were a bit surprised at how much new hardware there was to talk about this week, but we’re enterprising lads and we came up with a roster of topics that I’m sure will get your gadget lust going. From the Pogoplug to SugarSync to the MiFi Card to slinging TV to Windows 7 we cover a range of topics that we hope you’ll find useful.
Xavier’s take on the SlingMedia player for the iPhone is worth listening to alone. Give the show a listen and let us know what you think.

On Waiting for Windows 7:
As a reluctant geek, I would not be afraid to purchase a new computer and then upgrade to Windows 7, but I have to think I would be better off with a computer that came with Windows 7. (I could handle teh problems, but don’t want to.)At this point, in time it is reasonable to assume any newly released computers would be compatible and tested with the release candidate. This was not the case with Vista and “Vista compatible”.
NOW, rather that July, is the time for MS and or the manufacturers to establish a free upgrade to Win 7 for new computers.
Another issue is the unknown cost of the Vista to Win 7 upgrade. An assumed cost of $99, is a signifcant percentage of the cost of a new computer – another reason for delay.
I would like to get a couple of new computers but will stay in a holding pattern.
