Of the ones Lenovo unveiled so far, I’d would buy ThinkPad Edge E420s as my primary laptop.

However, I’ve heard rumors that Lenovo will introduce Thinkpad T420s soon, which would probably be my first choice of a laptop from any producer, especially since I was planning to buy the T410s.

I also would like a Lenovo Ideapad U1 Hybrid, but I’m wondering if the battery life is sufficient. The tablet portion would be my preferred way to “consume” content such as e-books, video and pictures on-the-go while the laptop part would be great for content creation. If, however, the battery life is not good (i.e., < 5 hours) and the notebook couldn't handle moderate graphics editing or video conversion, then I would prefer the Thinkpad 120e as a better workhorse computer for travel.

I really like the x120e. I think that it would be perfect for my needs for portability and for quality. I love the thinkpad name, I have owned 3 Thinkpads starting with the T41 and they have always impressed me with their quality.

Only real question is why have a touchpad at all? the red stick is so much easier to use, and the touch pad is too small to be very useful.

I would love the u260 as I entered here:https://twitter.com/AnthonyBertram/statuses/23725597150674944 and would really love to have a ThinkPad W701ds As My hp dv9810us did a good job in Iraq and Afghanistan until the 148 degree weather this past summer took it out so having this Laptop, would make it so much easier traveling back and forth to Afghanistan and using it as a trainer for those soldiers who waant to learn some of the great software that is on the market, like ms access or excell.

    • David

      01/09/2011 at 9:12 pm

You’re wanting to use a W701ds to show how to use Access and Excel? Uhh, that’s a little like using a howitzer to train on how to shoot quail.

I liked Lenovo IdeaPad U260 most so i buy anyone then i will buy this one. All others are also good but this laptop got my attention easily. Later when i went to read specification of this laptop then i realized this not only looks good but comes with orthodox power and fast boot time. I am sure if i have this notebook i will have look as well as power in my laptop which can easily grab other person’s attention too.

    1. Love Lenovo, hated selling my tablet to fund my last semester at school.
    2. Just started a job that requires a long commute, I need a mobile computer.
    3. The price point of $999 is exactly around the amount I would want to spend.
    4. I eat 5 lbs of Clementines a week, this makes it a perfect fit.

I’d love to have the X120e. There’s a reason it’s already won a CES award: nothing else has the build quality, the keyboard, the trackpoint, and now the new APU features and HDMI of the X120e, and certainly not at this ultraportable size and price point. This is the laptop for those of us who want a good-quality device with enough power to be a primary computer; that is also as portable as a netbook, and won’t cost us an arm and a leg. Bravo, Lenovo!

In fact, rather than the u260, can I just win 2 X120e’s? It amounts to the same price.

the u260 has the best aesthetics but lacks performance. for an ultraportable laptop of the same size as many vaio (s or z series), dell (adamo) and toshiba laptops, it lags behind in performance even though it came out with “newer” technology. even the lowest configuration of any of those mentioned laptops will outperform the currently highest config of the u260
