Google to Raise Price of New Nexus 10 At Launch?
A new leak suggests that Google’s new Nexus 10 that will be refreshed later this year may cost more than the Samsung-made tablet that it replaces. The Nexus 10 from Asus, which we’re dubbing the late-2013 edition, may follow the Nexus 7’s refresh this year by adding a small price premium according to a leaked screenshot from a retailer.
The screenshot was posted to Pocket-lint and gave UK pricing. The new Nexus 10 price is at £349.99 while the old Nexus 10 from Samsung was priced at £319.99.
The pricing and screenshot was shared on Twitter by user Rage06 and even the famed @evleaks had commented that he believes that the leak is authentic.

With regards to the Nexus 7 refresh, Google had upped the price of the 7-inch slate. The entry-price for the Nexus 7 last year was $200 and Google bumped the price in the U.S. by $30 for the new Nexus 7, which has a starting price of $230 this year. The small price increase gave users a more high-end computing experience with a best-in-class display resolution in that form factor, a new processor, and a sleeker design with slim side bezels.

As the Samsung Nexus 10 last year already has the best display of a 10-inch tablet, Google will liekly focus on the processor of that slate to further improve the user experience moving into this year. A common complaint of the Nexus 10 is that it sometimes lagged given that the dual-core Exynos CPU from Samsung had to support such a high amount of pixels on the ultra high resolution display.
A Nexus 11 was rumored in the past.
Details and specs are scarce at this time. Likely, we’ll see a large Nexus inscription on the back of the tablet, which seems to be part of Google’s design identity for its brand this year. The Nexus 7 2013 edition has a large Nexus branding on the rear of the slate when held in landscape orientation and the leaked LG-made Nexus 5 smartphone, also rumored to be arriving later this year, bears the same design ID.
Whether an LTE-equipped Nexus 10 is in the works this time around is unclear. Google had added LTE connectivity to this year’s Nexus 7 refresh.
