How to Add Showcase Weapon Camo in Black Ops 3

Published

on

When you make it to the winner’s circle in Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 your specialist shows off a weapon. This guide will show you how to add Showcase Weapon Camo in Black Ops 3.

It takes about a minute to set up, but it is not easy to figure out without a guide because you need to create a special version of the weapon and then add it in Specialist personalization.

You will need to repeat this process for each camo you want to use on a different Showcase weapon. This process allows you to add attachments and paintjobs to the weapon using this method as well.

With this guide you can even add attachments that you don’t have yet, since this is a showcase weapon, not one you are necessarily using in the game.

Showcase Weapon Camo in Black Ops 3 Guide

Go into the main menu of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, but don’t enter a lobby yet. This takes a minute to find the options and set up, so you don’t want to get pulled into a game while you are doing this.

Open the Gunsmith to set camo for your showcase weapon.

Open the Gunsmith to set camo for your showcase weapon.

Press the Menu button on your controller to pull up the Menu options where Gunsmith is. Open Gunsmith and find the weapon you want to use as your showcase weapon. In this case we use the Vesper. You’ll need to name the variant, but options are limited since Treyarch and Activision consider many words profanity.

Use this menu to choose the camo, attachments and paint job you want to use.

Now choose the attachments and the camo that you want to use. In this case we add three attachments and the Sunshine camo to the Vesper so that it looks like the gun we use in the game.

Customize your specialist to add camo or a paintjob to the showcase weapon.

Next you need to go to the the Specialist screen and choose to personalize the specialist. On Xbox One this is Y. On this screen select the Showcase Weapon.

Choose the variant with camo and attachments on it.

On the next screen move to the weapon you just customized and select it. You should see an indicator that there are variants of this weapon. On the next screen choose the variant. This will equip the Showcase weapon camo variant to your Specialist. You need to do this for each Specialist that you want to customize.

Once this is set up all you need to do is place in the top three in a game to see your player appear with the Showcase Weapon. In this area you can also taunt using the d-pad. Of course all of this cannot help you avoid using Gravity Spikes off the edge of the map.

Black Ops 3: 9 Things to Know After A Month

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Review

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Review

Every year I buy the new Call of Duty game and within three weeks I'm back to Madden or an open world game. This year it is different. I cannot get enough of Black Ops 3 multiplayer.

I'm not amazing at it, but despite the complaints you may read online, the game is impressively balanced even for an average player. I don't win every gun fight and I lose some I think I should win, but the overall feel of the game is spot on.

Treyarch continues to tweak the game with weapons updates and recently they delivered patches to fix exploits including users who were ruining Gun Game by leaving their player in a game all night to mine cryptokeys.

After four weeks of playing Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 I am still unlocking weapons and attachments, but I've played enough to know that this is an incredibly fun multiplayer experience that is worth every penny.

The single player experience is better than it has been in previous iterations of Call of Duty, but I can't tear myself away from multiplayer to finish it just yet. I haven't played the Zombies mode yet, so you'll need to look elsewhere for a review of that game style.

I am hopeful that Treyarch and Activision can continue to upgrade the Servers, which have gone down several times this month, but overall it has not been as big of an issue as it was with Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.
