How to Check Data Usage on the Sprint iPhone

Published

on

The Sprint iPhone comes with unlimited data plans, but iPhone users may want to check their data usage occasionally.

Checking data usage on an unlimited plan is especially important for customers that are thinking of switching to Verizon or AT&T for better 4G LTE coverage. Both of these competitors only offer limited data plans for new customers.

Using the Sprint app to check iPhone data usage is faster than looking at a bill or logging in to Sprint on a computer, and more accurate than the iPhone’s data usage counter.

How to check Data Usage

To start, download the Sprint Zone app if it is not already installed on the iPhone. This is a free app that offers access to billing information and usage.

Sprint Zone

After downloading the app, look for the icon on the iPhone home screen, as highlighted above.

Tap Sprint Zone.

My Account

When the app is fully loaded Tap My Account and enter the login credentials to the account if necessary.

Manage Account

Next Select Manage your Account.

Phones On Account

Tap Phones on account.

Devices

Select the iPhone line to check usage on and Tap View Usage.

Data Usage

The app shows data used in the bottom portion of the screen.

Users considering switching to Verizon or AT&T can check prices for the Mobile Share Plan and Share Everything data plans based on current usage.

To maximize savings on a switch, Sprint users can follow these tips to limit data usage for a billing cycle to see how much data they need.

To keep data usage under control it is best to follow a few simple tips.

  1. Limit watching video over the cellular connection. Video is the biggest data usage factor for many users
  2. Join WiFi when possible to keep usage low.
  3. Only Skype or FaceTime when on WiFi.

For users considering a switch to Verizon or AT&T, check out our guide to plans, coverage and pricing on AT&T, Sprint and Verizon.

Verizon customers can follow this guide to check data usage on the iPhone. AT&T customers should use this guide to check data used on the iPhone.
