Hmmm, success or failure of the rescue attempt would actually depend on whether the device was turned on when dunked. Your odds of a successful ressuscitation will likely drop by a factor of 100 if the device is on when you dunk it. I’ve been lucky so far (knock on wood), I’ve only blown away two Blackberries. One was left near a sink, I was a bit too splashy when I washed my face, bye-bye Blackberry. The other one was a straight drop into water, I called that one the “insta-cook” Blackberry. No amount of drying out ever amounted to anything. Plus warranty was voided thanks to exposure to water.

What I’m trying to say here is no one should be lulled into a false sense of security just because they own one of these kits. Electronic devices and H2O are mortal enemies, so be careful out there !

I wonder whether there is some off-the-shelf equivalent such as kitty litter.
