With the Verizon wireless content filters, you can choose from the following settings

• C7+ – This material contains little or no violence, no strong language, no drug use, limited alcohol or tobacco use, no modeling content, little or no sexual dialogue and situations and no themes of a mature nature
• T13+ – This material may contain mild coarse language, moderate violence, mildly suggestive lingerie, drug use depicted without being designed to encourage use, some sexuality or suggestive dialogue or themes that may not be appropriate for younger children.
• YA17+ – This content may contain one or more of the following: crude language, graphic violence, sexual situations, criminal activity, drug abuse, sexual situations without nudity or themes that may not be appropriate for younger youth.
• Filters Off

The Verizon Wireless Content Filters will work on the following apps, services and internet options.

If you are using an Android smartphone, you can even restrict app purchases from within the content filters.

It is nice to see that Verizon is offering this type of service free of charge. Keep in mind that web filters are not perfect and may restrict users from visiting appropriate sites or may allow them to visit inappropriate sites due to the constantly changing web. As Verizon suggests in the video,  this is no substitute for the watchful eye of a parent, but can be of great help.
