HTC Dodges ThunderBolt Ice Cream Sandwich Update Questions

Published

on

With less than 48 hours before the end of August, HTC is remaining tight-lipped about the HTC ThunderBolt Ice Cream Sandwich update and its release date.

Earlier this month, the HTC Facebook account proudly proclaimed that the HTC ThunderBolt ICS update release date was still slated for a date before the end of August.

Now, the company is singing a different tune and as of yet, it’s unclear if that’s a good thing or a bad thing.

HTC’s Facebook account is listening and responding to inquiries from disgruntled ThunderBolt owners but it’s not saying when the ThunderBolt Ice Cream Sandwich update might arrive. Interestingly it’s not even confirming the update for August any longer.

HTC has been vague about the HTC ThunderBolt ICS update release date.

The company claims that it’s still working on updates, it doesn’t even refer to the ThunderBolt directly, and that it will share information when and if it becomes available.

And unfortunately, all HTC ThunderBolt owners who are interested in the ICS update’s release date are being treated with the same type of vague response.

HTC ThunderBolt owners around the U.S. are hoping that HTC does indeed have some news to share “very soon” as the clock is winding down for the ThunderBolt update release window.

The company originally promised the update for July or August and now, it’s now down to the absolute wire as the end of August sits less than 48 hours away.

HTC missed its last Ice Cream Sandwich roll out window with the HTC Rezound Ice Cream Sandwich update. Originally, the update was promised for June or July but HTC rolled out the update in the first week of August instead.

It’s possible that we could see something similar happen with the HTC ThunderBolt update, especially since Verizon has yet to post the changelog to its website, something that happens before an update rolls out to the masses.

Well it was a nice thought, ICS for a year and a half old phone, but I think we knew this was coming. the demise of the ICS update. How many customers have they held onto by giving us all false hopes from day 1? What fools we all were for believing it would happen. No matter though, a shiny new phone is waiting for all of us, if we will just part with the money, as we all of course will.

Windows phone this fall. Done with Android. Apple, which should have died years ago if that idiot Bill Gates hadn’t given them thirty million dollars, has crippled the Android operating system with the help of a bunch of stupid jurors in San Jose.

I got a tablet from Samsung and they updated it one month before the expaired promise. I have been lying so many times by HTC about TB. I never ever will buy another HTC phone for sure and I’ll never recommend to any friend, family or coworker to bay a htc phone. Is no way how i’ll spend another penny in company that disrespect in this way thei customer. I pay 2 phone. about 500 hundred dollars. Bay, bay HTC

I’ll just be happy if/when we get it… I don’t really care if it’s a day or two late, like the most recent ICS rollout, as long as it shows up…
That being said, I will continue to harass HTC and VZW both every couple of hours between Aug 31st and whenever it rolls out…

As the so called First 4 G LTE flagship phone, built by HTC, it was buggy from the start. Then VZW lied to everyone for months about the problems. All in all Thunderbolt owners have not been treated very well. We stepped out in faith and laid out hard earned cash for a phone that has been problematic from day one. Now we will probably be the last ones to get ICS if at all.
After all this would you but another HTC phone?

Well this is the samething they already did for the Desire HD. First they said we would get it then they removed it from the update list citing they had determined the owners were better served with the current Ver. then they lied about the reason stating it had to do with the way the memory was partioned which is totally false since they are updating the incredible S even though it is partioned the same way with only 1GB rom whereas the Desire HD has 1.5 GB. The real reason is sales. They are trying to force people to buy new phones if they want ICS

Done with HTC. They make great commercials but they should have diverted some of that money to customer service.

That’s it I’ve been loyal with HTC far too long. I’m done with them, hello Apple.

tonyZ, that is exactly what Verizon wants to hear. HTC has clearly pointed to Verizon for the delay. These guys ain’t dumb…they are trying to drive up i5 sales among irate TBolt owners. Think about it…it’s evil marketing genius.

HTC is not commenting because they don’t want to bite the Verizon hand that’s feeding them! My guess is HTC had this update finished weeks ago as promised but Evil V is sitting on it to drive up i5 sales among frustrated TBOLT owners. Makes sense if you are an evil, greedy corporation. I personally would not be surprised to see the ICS for TBOLT come out AFTER the sales spike for the i5 subsides.

I’m sitting here with my HTC Desire S and it seems there is still no sign of ICE Cream Sandwich in sight for it. – This will be my last HTC device. Done with it!
I’ll pick a manufacturer who does his homework! There are plenty enough.
