HTC M7 Parts Caught on Video with Droid DNA Looks

Published

on

A new leak from ETrade Supply shows the front and rear housing of the rumored HTC M7 which look very similar to the HTC DROID DNA.

While the HTC M7 will likely succeed the HTC One X as the company’s flagship smartphones, it doesn’t look very similar to the One X. The video shows the rear housing of the M7 is taller than the One X, and it uses more straight lines. Whereas the One X was featured a curved unibody design, the M7 has a much flatter two-piece body.

The back of the M7 is actually closer to the DROID DNA. The M7 housing is shorter and wider than that of the DNA, but the overall design is very similar. Both are matte black, and have few curves on the back. The power button of the M7 is on the top of the rear housing, like it is on the DNA, but this time the button is off to the side instead of centered.

The HTC M7 also features a dedicated camera button, which the DNA lacks. It’s the first HTC Android smartphone since the EVO 4G LTE on Sprint to feature a dedicated camera button.

Like other recent HTC phones, the M7 rear housing also has a Beats logo, which means it will have Beats audio for enhanced sound.

The front (or middle) housing shows the HTC M7 will have the rumored 4.7-inch display. Current rumors for the device say it will feature a 4.7-inch 1080p display.

HTC will likely announce the M7 at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next month. The M7 will likely run Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with the newest version of HTC’s Sense 5 UI on top of it. The phone will likely use a quad-core processor (possibly the same Snapdragon S4 Pro in the DNA) and have a 13MP rear-facing camera.

There’s a chance HTC will release its new flagship on AT&T, Verizon and Sprint, though there’s no estimated release date for the phone.

    Expect a 5 incher, it’s too big for just 4.7 display https://goo.gl/C2umY
