HTC One Android 4.3 Update for AT&T and T-Mobile on Deck

Published

on

The HTC One Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update, as promised, is rolling out to the Developer Edition of the device. And while HTC isn’t saying what is next, a noted insider suggests that the AT&T HTC One and the T-Mobile HTC One are next in line for upgrades to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.

A few days ago, HTC began rolling out the HTC One Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update to users in Taiwan. The update, which brings Android 4.3 features and some enhancements to owners of the flagship device, also started rolling out for the Developer Edition of the HTC One, as promised. The company also promised that it would be rolling out Android 4.3 across SKUs in the United States though when pressed for details, the company came up short and couldn’t confirm the roll outs for this month.

The HTC One Max is rumored for September with a 6-inch display.

Instead, HTC President Jason Mackenzie claimed that the company was working hard with U.S. carriers to get the software certified for arrival, leaving out a specific release window.

Today, noted HTC leakster LLabTooFeR shed some more light on the roll out saying that he believes that the AT&T and T-Mobile versions of the HTC One are likely next in line to get Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. He doesn’t offer a specific time frame unfortunately so owners are still going to be in the dark about that. While this is unofficial information, he is generally spot on with his information so users can expect the AT&T and T-Mobile models to be first in line.

Oddly enough, he doesn’t mention the Sprint HTC One. Sprint has been at the front of the pack in terms of Android updates so it’s surprising to hear that it may not be first to Android 4.3 with the HTC One.

Keep in mind, HTC did not rule out September for these updates so it could be that they roll out in the near future. HTC and its carriers likely won’t confirm a date ahead of time, instead, choosing to roll the software out when they are ready.

I hope this update will fix the mic problem. I rather not exchange my phone at this point in time.

Lol at this article. Sprint released the update before AT&T and T-Mobile,
