HTC One Android 4.3 Update Roll Out Continues

Published

on

The HTC One Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update marches on as the international version of the HTC One is now the proud recipient of the update, an update that not only brings the features of Google’s Android 4.3 software but also brings some changes to the device’s Sense 5 user interface.

Several weeks ago, HTC began rolling out the HTC One Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update in Taiwan. The roll out was seen as the start to a widespread roll out across the globe though HTC remained mum on specific timing for other regions. We assumed, based on past roll outs, that the update would spread to other devices within a few weeks and sure enough, today, the HTC One Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update is pushing out to the international version of the device.

Today, HTC One owners in Europe and elsewhere, toting the international version of the device, should see the software arrive Over-the-Air. Those who are impatient can find the OTA update here. Only those that are adept at flashing software should go the manual installation route, everyone else should wait for the update to arrive OTA.

Our unbranded, unlocked HTC One here in the United States still hasn’t received the update though we expect that to change within the next few days as HTC works to push the software out to all of its users.

The update brings a number of enhancements including many of the features found in Android 4.3 Jelly Bean itself as well as enhancements for HTC’s Sense 5 software that joins Android on board the HTC One. Changes include BlinkFeed improvements including the ability to save articles to read later, improvements to Music, and improvements to video highlights including a new interface.

This update, oddly enough, follows in the footsteps of the HTC One Android 4.3 Jelly Bean roll out in the United States that began earlier this month on Sprint. AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile have all received their upgrades to Android 4.3 while the Verizon HTC One isn’t expected to get the software until the end of the month. HTC says that the software is on track but has declined to offer a specific date.
