HTC One (M8) U.S. Release Clears Important Hurdle

Published

on

The replacement to the popular HTC One from last year is coming soon, and HTC has even confirmed they’ll officially announce the new smartphone on March 25th.

While we’ve been lucky enough to get leak after leak of the hardware and software, and know nearly all the details already, today the HTC One (M8) 2014 model has cleared one final important hurdle before being released in the United States. The obligatory FCC approval process has been completed this week, and now all we need is to wait for an actual release date.

According to the FCC report and Engadget, the device passed with flying colors and is all set and locked in for a US release date. Previously we’ve heard it would come in March but now a late April release is looking more likely. While the filing didn’t reveal all the details, it does give us a look at the curves, which have been revealed in previous leaks already.

Currently we’re hearing the “All New HTC One” will be available on all major US carriers stateside, and it should launch in three color variants just like the iPhone 5s. Those being silver, dark grey, and gold.

We can expect all major US carriers to offer the new HTC One, but this model in particular appears to have all those AT&T 4G LTE bands. AT&T was one of the first US carriers to offer the original, and we’re expecting the same once the all new HTC One (2014) arrives in April.

For now we’re expecting a 5-inch 1080p smartphone powered by a top of the line quad-core processor, 2GB or 3GB of RAM for improved performance, a better camera on the rear with a new dual-camera setup, Android 4.4 KitKat, and a brand new and improved Sense 6.0 interface for owners.

With Samsung’s Galaxy S5 coming soon and potentially launching in March, HTC will need to hurry to market with the new One.
