HTC One M9 Release Date Details Surface

Published

on

Earlier this month the brand new HTC One M9 smartphone was officially announced and revealed after months of rumors and speculation, but one detail that remains unclear is the official release date. However, this weekend one leak surfaced that has potentially confirmed the release date and price, and we have all the details below.

On March 1st HTC took the stage at Mobile World Congress and announced its new HTC One M9. The smartphone was leaked countless times before the reveal, so it wasn’t much of a secret. And while many expected it to be released on the same day, like they did with the HTC One M8 last year, that didn’t happen.

Instead, HTC confirmed the new One M9 release date is “mid-March” but that’s all they’ve said thus far, and no carriers have confirmed an actual HTC One M9 release date either. That said, the popular online retailer B&H listed it for $649, and claim the release date is March 25th.

As we said above, there’s no clear release date in sight for the HTC One M9. The company said the global release date is starting in mid-March, and all four major US carriers have come forward with announcement claiming it will be coming soon, coming this Sprint, or available in Q2. However, none have shared an actual date.

B&H posted up a pre-order page late last night or early this morning for the new HTC One M9. It revealed the price, which was listed as $649, as well as a March 25th release date, but no carrier details were attached to the page. They’ve since removed the post, so we’re unsure if this is a real date, or just them creating the page ahead of any potential release date, once it does indeed arrive.

It’s also worth noting that last week HTC revealed the price themselves, claiming the retail value of the phone is $599. Meaning we could see a $599 price tag, and some carriers offer it up for $649, like we saw with a Best Buy leak the day before the March 1st announcement.

While B&H and Best Buy have both listed a $649 price point for the new smartphone, HTC claims it will retail for $599 according to their official giveaway terms and conditions. At the same time, the March 25th release date on B&H could be for the unlocked version, which should hit HTC.com around mid-March, or it could have simply been a placeholder until the official date is announced.

All said and done we’re still no closer to confirming a date, as all US carriers have been rather shy when it comes to making any formal announcements. We expect AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon and Sprint to all offer it, and potentially smaller regional carriers, but none have said anything more than coming soon, or coming this Spring.

It’s only a matter of time until official details leak, pre-order pages go live, and we begin to learn more about the impending HTC One M9 release date. We’ll be on the lookout for more details as they become available.

    Hi,
I am able to login to the iphone by looking around for clues after trying multiple times to unlock. The zoom got enabled somehow and I was not sure how to enter password. However, noticed one thing that by touching on the corners , the password page for scrolling up and down based on your touch i.e.,top corner or bottom corner, so slowly and carefully i controlled the scroll and then put input password ..and I am able to unlock but again te zoom was still at large…applied same technique and removed zoom from settings….

Thanks a lot for your initial guide….you are correct in most of your blog..
