HTC One Mini Coming Soon to AT&T?

Published

on

A new press shot of the HTC One Mini, HTC’s version of the HTC One flagship with a slightly smaller screen, has surfaced sporting AT&T’s branding.

In the picture sent to AndroidPolice, AT&T’s branding is shown taking over the left side of the notification bar in HTC’s Sense 5 UI. It appears that will be the only carrier branding on the front of the device. As the device has a minimal clean aesthetic, its likely HTC, nor users, will mind not having the AT&T logo stamped prominently on the front of the device.

That isn’t to say that the AT&T’s globe logo doesn’t appear anywhere on the device, it is on the rear. Although it seems to be laser etched in to the device’s aluminum back, so it won’t catch the eye nearly as much as it does on other devices.

Recent rumors have indicated that the HTC One Mini will launch at some point in August. Although AT&T has now been confirmed as a carrier for the device, whether T-Mobile users will be able to pick up the HTC One is unclear.

The HTC One Mini is almost an exact replica of the HTC One. The HTC One Mini features many of the same hardware features that made the HTC One so notable, including a rear-facing PixelSense camera, a front-facing camera for video chat and BoomSound front-facing speakers. BoomSound allows HTC devices to deliver clear audio to users without the need for external speakers.

The device isn’t an exact replica of its namesake. Instead of the 4.7-inch 1080p display that it’s larger brother comes with, the HTC One Mini features a 4.3” inch display that is capable of playing back videos at a full 720p resolution. The device also has slightly less processing power, with HTC opting to only include a dual-core processor in the One Mini as opposed to the quad-core processor found in the HTC One.

Of course, both devices run HTC’s Sense 5 interface, albeit on top of different versions of Android. The HTC One mini will ship with Android 4.2.2, so its users will have access to lock screen widgets and a new notification area, out of the box. Although that update has started going out to some HTC One users who have unlocked devices, the update has yet to come to HTC One owners on AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile.

Verizon has yet to debut their version of the HTC One, however it has confirmed that the device will be coming at some point this year.

Well that is a great news, Only thing I din’t like about HTC One mini is that it is not coming up with android’s latest update 4.3 jelly bean. They should have upgraded it to latest version, it will surely have some negative impact on its sale.
