Verizon HTC One Release Details Coming Soon

Published

on

The Verizon HTC One is official and will be coming to shelves at some point this summer. And while Verizon remains mum on timing for an announcement in regards to pricing and a release date, HTC is saying that it should be able to share details “soon.”

Earlier this week, after months of rumor and speculation, Verizon finally announced the HTC One, a device that was released several weeks ago on AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile after an introduction all the way back in February. The device is one of the big name smartphones on the market right now and when paired with Verizon’s 4G LTE network, it’s even more formidable than it already was.

We could see a Verizon HTC One at the Verizon announcement.

The Verizon HTC One release details could come soon.

Problem is, HTC and Verizon have remain silent on big details regarding the Verizon HTC One, refusing to disclose official pricing or the release date for its new flagship, leaving consumers wondering when they might expect the device to arrive.

For his part @LlabTooFeR, a noted HTC leakster, remains unclear on when Verizon plans to release the device saying that “anything can happen” and that it’s “hard to predict.” This could mean that a release date is still up in the air. Rumors have suggested that it may arrive in late June but at this point, again, anything is possible.

HTC, inundated with requests for information, has shared a bit of information in regards to details. According to the manufacturer, the company will have “have more details to share soon.” It’s not clear what it means by “soon” though this is a little bit better than the completely ambiguous responses it was giving people earlier in the week.

The device is still slated to be out sometime this summer which means that the device could potentially be released in August. Given the launch, this isn’t expected to happen. However, thanks to the companies unwillingness to share information, the release date pricing of the Verizon HTC One remain unknown.

Verizon’s HTC One is expected to be the same as the other models, save for one feature. It’s rumored to have Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, an update that is thought to be coming to the One sometime in the middle of the month .

I swore off HTC after my experience with the Thunderbolt (extremely slow updates, stability problems, etc). But, the camera and speakers are so spot-on what I want in a phone, I find myself really wanting one. Topping it off with the Nexus Experience device, that should help modders support the device better than they could my TB. Plus, it sounds like a more serious flagship.

My only hesitation, and I do mean only, is the lack of replaceable battery. I had a bad charger that killed the battery in my TB, and $10 and ten seconds was all it took to fix it. Non-expandable storage doesn’t bother me. Wireless charging would be nice, but isn’t required (would just be a perk with the SGS4).

I’m curious what Motorola can bring up. If they don’t make an announcement of specifics before something else catches my attention, they could lose me again.

i was dead set on a GS4. esp after my thunderbolt. dont hate my TB, but dont love it either. i was ready to move on bc the GOD AWFUL battery life. so bad i dont even keep my data network on or it will die in hours.

but now i have delayed my purchase of the GS4 and set my sights on the One giving HTC one last final chance.

but right as this was announced now im getting skeptical as the old saying creeps in my mind…

“fool me once, shame on you… fool me twice……………………….(shame on me)” ugh

My thoughts, exactly. It’s just that damn camera and speakers . . . put that on the SGS4 and I’m there, no question.

The fancy unibody metal case doesn’t really matter to me. I don’t think it enhances durability sufficiently. I don’t care if it’s plastic where the coating rubs off like on my TB.

I will also say despite the TB, I still feel like I want to support HTC just so Samsung doesn’t absorb a larger percentage of the Android market. I’m losing faith Google can make Motorola swing for the fences and break that stranglehold.

Unless Verizon screws with it, chances are it’ll be 32GB.
