The HTC One X Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean update has rolled out to owners of the One X on Canadian carrier Rogers, a sign that an AT&T One X Jelly Bean update could be only a few days away.

Late last year, Rogers promised to roll out Android 4.1 Jelly Bean to HTC One X owners in the early part of January. It now appears that the carrier has kept its promise as owners of the Rogers One X are now reporting seeing the update rolling out Over-the-Air.

According to MobileSyrup, One X owners on Rogers are seeing the massive Jelly Bean update push out and those interested in downloading and installing it will want to head into the One X’s settings to see if the update is available. If it is, owners should be prepared to set aside a bit of time to both download and install the software as it checks in at a hefty 635MB, a sizable piece of firmware.

The HTC One X Jelly Bean update has rolled out in Canada. That means it could hit the AT&T One X soon.

Those interested in Jelly Bean can head into the Settings, then About Phone, and then System software updates in order to check to see if the software is available. It’s unclear if the software is rolling out in batches or if it’s widely available so it’s definitely worth a look. Rogers’ Jelly Bean update page has yet to be updated.

The update will take the device from Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, a massive upgrade to say the least. Our favorite Android 4.1 Jelly Bean features can be seen in the video below.

Rogers is evidently rolling out Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean and not the current version of Android 4.1, Android 4.1.2, but at this point, owners will want to take what they can get.

What this means for the AT&T HTC One X is unclear. As we’ve pointed out, Rogers and AT&T typically roll out their updates in close proximity to each other so it could be that AT&T rolls out its HTC One X Jelly Bean update in the near future, potentially within a couple of days.

AT&T has yet to confirm anything but we wouldn’t be surprised if the carrier rolls something out in a few days or, at the very least, at some point in January. After all, Asia and Europe have already seen the update and now owners in Canada are enjoying their new update.

The whole world gets their updates before at&t gives it to us in the U. S.. Screw the big carriers. I will NEVER sign a contract and buy a carrier subsidized phone again. Strictly Nexus and prepaid only. That is if Google gets it together and actually makes the Nexus 4 available for purchase. The US phone market is pathetic.

I completely agree with you, I would also love to get the nexus 4. But from I hear key lime pie is already on its way. we haven’t even gotten our jelly bean and within a few months people could be already ahead again.

I’m hoping that the Nexus 5 will be Motorola. If that happens, and the price is affordable, T-Mobile here I come.

This is bullshit. I went from an iPhone 4 to the htc one x, hoping to “upgrade.” What I got in return was a downgrade. What is taking AT&T so long with this update? Are they trying to add their own services that nobody uses? Nobody wants AT&T navigation. That’s what google maps is for. I say they should just hold off and work on key lime pie, and maybe they’ll get it right before it actually launches.
