Intel X25-M SSD - Review of the Intel X25-M Solid State DriveWell now we know. We’ve been hearing a lot about Intel’s new SSD technology and today’s official word from HP about how that can impact battery life in the HP 6930 certainly has us wondering what the price of this new technology is going to be.

Intel has announced pricing for the 1.8 inch and 2.5 inch X25–M (that M stands for Mainstream) that will cost you $595 for an 80GB model. As Crave states that works put to about 7.43 per GB. So the calculaton will be how much are those performance improvements worth to your budget. Or, perhaps, how long will you have to wait for prices to drop.

Laptop Magazine has a reveiw of the new SSD so take a look.
