Smarter Do Not Disturb

Do Not Disturb is an essential feature for us, but it's not perfect. There are three things Apple could add to make Do Not Disturb much better.

The first thing would be an option to allow users to automatically enable Do Not Disturb based on calendar entries. Users could default this to on or set it to only turn on when the Show as Busy option was enabled.

The next upgrade would allow it to act as part of a spam blocker. Let us set up a rule on how to handle notifications from people who aren't in our contacts when they call or text. Another useful option would be to allow for all calls from unknown numbers to go straight to voicemail. iOS 10 will allow apps to connect to the Phone app to identify Spam, but Apple did not mention any connectivity to Do Not Disturb.

Finally, allow Do Not Disturb to enable back to back text messages to trigger an alert similar to how phone calls work. This would still allow users to restrict to a group of contacts so not everything would come through.
