The company has posted a short message on its support page which says that the Do Not Disturb bug that has left the iOS 6 feature broken for iPhone users won’t be fixed until next week. Instead of rolling out an iOS 6 update to remedy the issue, the issue will evidently fix itself on January 7th. Once January 7th rolls around, the Do Not Disturb functionality should return to normal.

In the meantime, Apple suggests that users manually turn Do Not Disturb on or off. iPhone owners can do this by heading into Settings > Notifications > Do Not Disturb and then switching Scheduled to Off.

The iOS 6 Do Not Disturb bug is affected owners of Apple’s mobile devices.

For now, iPhone users will have to deal with the bug that prevents scheduled Do Not Disturb sessions from ending, which in turn, may result in missed calls, texts and alerts. The bug cropped up for many users today though others saw the issue occur on January 1st.

Do Not Disturb, of course, is a new feature within iOS 6 that allows users to stop notifications and calls on the iPhone or iPad. Users can then set the feature to a schedule of their liking. For instance, scheduling it to turn on between 10PM and 8AM will ensure a good night’s sleep as it will block unwanted phone calls, texts and more.

Users who are currently seeing a moon icon next to the clock on the iPhone when it’s past the scheduled time to turn off are currently experiencing the issue and at the moment, the issue seems to be very widespread with many iPhone owners reporting that Do Not Disturb isn’t functioning as normal.

Fortunately, things will return to normal soon though the timing of the bug couldn’t have been worse for Apple as the company recently debuted its new iPhone 5 ad, seen in the video above, that touts the Do Not Disturb feature as one of the iPhone’s best.
