We'd expect the iOS 8.4.1 update to be the last iOS 8 update that Apple rolls out to the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. That is, unless it breaks core services after its release.
If iOS 8.4.1 doesn't cause widespread issues (and again this is probably why Apple's using a beta, to snuff these kinds of problems out), we'd expect iOS 8.4.1 to serve as the final piece of the bridge to the iOS 9 release in the fall. We haven't heard any rumors about a surprise iOS 8.5 update and we're not expecting any big surprises from Apple down the road. iOS 8.4.1 in of itself is a bit of a surprise given how close we are to the fall and the iOS 9 release. |
