iPad 2 Shipping Dates Improve to 2-3 Weeks In US
On the heels of news that Apple secured a new supplier for LCD displays for the iPad 2, comes word that iPad 2 shipping dates in the United States have received a boost and are now shipping in 2-3 weeks instead of 4-5 weeks.
Apple’s iPad 2 has been in extremely high demand since its release on March 11th with shipping dates getting pushed back to 3-4 weeks and at one point, as far as 4-5 weeks.
Today marks the first time that shipping dates have been at 2-3 weeks in the U.S. since launch day.
The improved shipping dates come after a report indicated that Apple, in attempt to fix iPad 2 stock shortages, had secured a contract AU Optronics Corp as a new supplier for LCD screens joining Samsung and LGD who previous were tasked with supplying the iPad 2’s displays.
Shipping date improvements are across the board, including both Wi-Fi and 3G in all capacities.
