iPhone 3.0 OS Updates Underway and Causing the Usual Problems

activationwoesCall this news that isn’t news, but some users are reporting that Apple’s authentication servers are buckling under the load and this of course is causing some to have no luck when it comes to updating their iPhones and iPod Touch. Fortunately in my case, everything went smoothly. Both my iPhone 3G and 1st Gen iPod Touch seem to be working as they should.

I’ve noticed one App casualty so far and that is with Pogoplug. While I can access music and other files, I’m not able to access video the way I was before the update. We’ll see if that gets fixed when there is a Pogoplug app update.

And speaking of updates, there were already 7 updates pushed through, including Evernote. I haven’t had much chance to check them out yet, but will be doing so soon. The Evernote update promises faster and smoother syncing and I’m looking forward to how many of the other features of that app work as well. There’s a video after the jump on what’s new for the iPhone and iPod Touch with Evernote.

Just installed 3.0 and USB tethering seems to be working smoothly on the Rogers network here in Canada. I’ll have to do some experimenting and see how the bluetooth connection compares with USB…
