iPhone 5 Release Date: Save $2 a Day to Pay Cash

Published

on

The iPhone 5 release date looks good for this October, roughly 3 months away.

Even though we know the next iPhone is on the way, many of us don’t plan for release day gadget purchases.

Saving just $2 a day will give the average user enough money to buy the iPhone 5 on release day without using a credit card or dipping into rainy day savings.

Assuming Apple doesn’t change the price of the iPhone 5, saving just $2 a day for the next 95 days will put enough money in your wallet to buy the iPhone 5 on release day.

Users who want to buy a bigger iPhone 5 model should save about a dollar a day more to be ready. If you bought an iPhone 4S last year or need to buy an iPhone 5 at off contract prices we can’t help with the sticker shock, but we can help you prepare by saving $7 a day to pay for the iPhone 5 full retail pricing in October.

Planning a gadget purchase doesn’t need to be tough or time-consuming. If you want to purchase the iPhone 5 on release day, grab a jar to put money in every day or set up an automatic transfer from your checking account to another savings Many banks offer free automatic transfers from accounts. If your bank won’t allow you to set up a $2 a day transfer set it up to transfer $14 every week, or every time you get paid.

Where to find $2 a day to pay for the iPhone 5:

  • Skip coffee in the morning.
  • Switch to water when eating out instead of paying for pop.
  • Switch to a cheaper cell phone plan with Billshrink.
  • Negotiate a better cable bill price.
  • Put Netflix subscription on hold.
  • Sell your old gadgets.
  • Donate plasma.

My favorite method of paying for a new gadget is to sell my old gadgets. While it doesn’t make sense to sell your current smartphone until closer to the iPhone 5 release date it’s worth checking out the prices offered by Gazelle.com when planning a gadget purchase. Even selling the iPhone 3GS in good condition will cut the savings down to almost a$1 a day and selling an iPhone 4 from Verizon will cut the savings down to pennies per day. Pennies!

Gazelle iPhone prices as of July 9th:

  • iPhone 3GS 16GB – $90
  • iPhone 4 16GB – $180
  • iPhone 4S 16GB – $250-$277

Gazelle’s prices will go up and down between today and the iPhone 5 release date, but if you keep an eye on the iPhone 5 rumors and stay tuned for our reminder to sell right before the iPhone 5 announcement and release date you can lock in the price for 30 days and keep using your iPhone while waiting for the iPhone 5 to arrive.

iPhone 5 Release Date Rumors

Analysts expect that Apple will release the iPhone 5 in September or October. There are rumors of an earlier iPhone 5 release date, but October makes the most sense.

iPhone 5 release date rumors

Look for an iPhone 5 release date in October.

Apple announced the iPhone 4 at the end of September and released the iPhone 4S in the middle of October. We expect Apple will follow a similar plan this year with October 12th and October 19th looking like possible dates for the iPhone 5 release date.

Don’t plan to take off from work to wait in line just yet, but if you save cash with an eye on the October 12th date for a possible iPhone 5 launch you should be in a good position to pay cash for the iPhone 5 on day one.

The iPhone 5 may ship with a taller 4-inch display. Sources claim that leaked iPhone 5 parts show a metal back, smaller dock connector and thinner frame. Apple may include a quad-core processor and 4G LTE connectivity in the iPhone 5.

If you are a Verizon customer the subsidized price is useless as they will force you off unlimited data for this new bogus shared usage plan. The only way to keep unlimited data with a new phone is to pay the full price.

What is your source? Are you just assuming that date based on when the 4S launched? If so you should say that you ASSUME it will launch in October, and stop acting like Apple told you (and we know Apple isn’t making announcements via third parties).

The price too is a GUESS, albeit an educated one given the typical price of a new iPhone.

Oh and for trade-ins eBay’s Instant sale pays more than Gazelle. And you’ll always get more putting it up for a normal eBay auction (or Craigslist if you don’t mind person-to-person), even when you factor in eBay fees.

Ahh I see you do mention it’s assumed. Still the way you start the article implies it’s a fact.

Get a life Jimmo, the man was just trying to write an informative article. He may have guessed but did so based on predictable apple & if you don’t want to sell it on gazelle you don’t have to, really special boy, it was just a suggestion.
