iPhone 5S Delayed to Steal iPhone 6 Feature, Claims Report

A new report claims Apple is delaying the iPhone 5S to steal a rumored iPhone 6 feature, a bigger display.

The new info claims Apple is pushing the iPhone 5S release back to include a 4.3-inch Retina display in the new iPhone, which will delay the phone until the end of the year.

The Commercial Times, reported by Bloomberg, cites supply chain sources who claim Apple is putting a larger display in the iPhone 5S, which will require design changes and would force Apple to skip the profitable holiday shopping season.

The report mentions a 4.3-inch Retina Display on the iPhone 5S, which would be a jump from the iPhone 5’s 4-inch display, but there is no chatter about a higher resolution to match the increase. There are also no details on if this screen is taller and wider, or just taller like the iPhone 5 screen increase Apple offered last year.

The iPhone 5S could feature a bigger screen according to a new rumor, but it is more likely users will need to wait for the iPhone 6.

While Apple does not comment on rumors Apple CEO Tim Cook’s recent comments on screen size don’t point to an iPhone 5S with a larger screen. Cook’s public comments leave room open for a larger screen iPhone in the long-term, but downplay any immediate upgrade.

Previous iPhone 5S leaks point to a similar design that includes a 4-inch display, including several alleged part leaks which show what appears to be iPhone 5S parts suited for a 4-inch display.

While this new information claims suppliers are delaying shipments to Apple, previous leaks claim iPhone 5S supply will start soon and multiple sources point to a September iPhone 5S launch.

Word of an iPhone 5S prototype appeared in late 2012 with a higher resolution Retina+ display, but with the same 4-inch display as the iPhone 5. An iPhone 6 prototype spotted at the same time combined a 4.8-inch display and a higher resolution.

Despite the claims of an iPhone 5S with a larger display, it would be a big surprise to see Apple deliver an iPhone 5S with a 4.3-inch display in 2013. At least one analyst claims Apple is working on an iPhone 5S with a larger screen for late 2013, but that it is in addition to the iPhone 5S with a 4-inch display we expect in the coming months.

Other analysts point to an iPhone 6 release in early in 2014, which is also surprising, but would make more sense than delaying the iPhone 5S past the holiday season that helped Apple sell nearly 50 million iPhones at the end of 2012.

I have been very pro apple for many years. Apple must come clean as to what to expect. I don’t want to jump ship but Iam getting tired.

If they expand the screen it will obviously get wider also because the iphone 5 got only taller so it can support full widescreen 16:9 so if they expand again it wont get a wider ratio. Anyways apple sucks GO GOOGLE!!!!
