iPhone 6 Plus in Stock at Target

Published

on

The iPhone 6 Plus has seen a lot of demand since the device’s launch over a week ago, and many stores have had the phone in very low stock. However, Target has the larger phablet-like iPhone in stock at many locations around the US.

Many users on Reddit are reporting that cities in California, as well as the Cleveland area have iPhone 6 Plus units in stock. Plus, one users says that a Target in Arizona has had iPhone 6 Plus units in stock since the device’s initial launch.

One thing to be aware of, though, is that a Target rep says buyers won’t be able to buy an iPhone 6 Plus outright, but will instead have to tack it onto a contract, which means you can’t buy the device at full retail price without a contract. This is probably because the device is in such low stock, and the store wants to keep away from resellers.

The Target rep also says to call your local Target store just to make sure that the iPhone 6 Plus is in stock, even if the website says it is, since the website isn’t updated to the minute. However, when doing a search myself, pretty much all of the Target locations in my area said that they had the iPhone 6 Plus in stock.

Of course, it depends what color and storage size you want, but we’re guessing the 16GB flavors will go fast, while the higher-capacity models may sell slower.

However, this could be a sign that Apple is quickly getting more units in stock to sell to consumers, especially since many buyers are seeing their back-ordered iPhone 6 units shipping earlier than originally quoted.

iPhone 6 Plus

The iPhone 6 Plus has been under a lot of controversy lately, with many users reporting that the larger device bends while in their pockets, and many people are proving that the phone can bend under the force of their own hands. Of course, this has triggered the popular “Bendgate” term, and Apple has been under a lot of fire because of this apparent design flaw with the larger iPhone.

Of course, Apple says that it will replace iPhone 6 units that become bent, so there’s really nothing you should worry about as far as your warranty goes. Plus, you shouldn’t have to worry about something like this happening anyway, as it looks to be a rare instance that has only affected a small fraction of iPhone 6 units so far.

Apple says that the iPhone 6 bending is “extremely rare” during normal use, which probably explains why there have only been nine official complaints out of the 10 million iPhone 6 units that were sold over opening weekend, with that number growing as more and more iPhone 6 devices continue to sell.

Since the attention of the issue started to gain steam, YouTubers began to post videos of iPhone 6 units bending, and there’s even a video that shows a user actually physically trying to get his iPhone 6 Plus to bend. Spoiler alert: it bent. Frankly, I’m surprised the phone didn’t snap in half due to the amount of pressure and force he was applying. In that case, the device held up quite well.

Apple has been rather quiet about this specific issue, but that’s likely because the fiasco with iOS 8.0.1 has garnered a lot of attention as well. However, Apple says that it is “looking into this with an insane amount of detail, ” but it looks like there’s nothing they can really do to prevent the problem from happening again, seeing as they would have to redesign the phone completely in order to strengthen its structural integrity. The company will have to wait until the iPhone 6s or the iPhone 7 before making changes.

In any case, a phone made out of thin aluminum will bend with the right amount of force, so we don’t see this as something incredibly surprising. In fact, there were several reports back when the iPhone 5s released of units bending in people’s pockets. Of course, the amount of attention the issue got was nothing compared to what the iPhone 6 “bendgate” is receiving now, which is rather unfortunate, since this issue is nothing new.

So what can you do to prevent your iPhone 6 from bending like this? For starters, a little bit of common sense goes a long way: don’t put your iPhone 6 in your back pocket and sit on it. Furthermore, it’s a good idea to not where tight pants with tight pockets that could restrict the movement of the iPhone 6 in your front pocket, which could lead to a slow bend in the device.

Many users put their smartphones on the desk or table in front of them if they’re sitting down, not only to have easy access to it when they need it, but it also prevents any kind of accidental damage from occurring.

Otherwise, if you notice your iPhone 6 is bent, take it into your local Apple Store and see if you can get a free replacement. You’ll most likely be able to, but as mentioned earlier, it’ll be up to the Genius Bar employee as to whether or not you get your wish granted.

Yes we do have the phones in our stores. Not all of them and not all sizes. But they are is stock.

Some of this stock is for pre-orders. But (at least in my store) a good 80% of pre-orders were for 64gb.

Which means we have some stock of 16 gbs up for grabs ;). Give us a call, press 4 for electronics and ask for the Target Mobile Rep.

Be specific lol. There’s 2 iPhones. 3 storage options. 3 colors and 3 carriers. (no T-Mobile).
With Verizon you can do edge or 2 year contract. The other 2 are regular 2 year contracts. :)

Also target is partnered with apple. They HAVE to give us some suply even if the apple stores around us are running out. A lot of people don’t know that we offer phones so we don’t have those big lines that apple and bestbuy have. So as of right now target is the fastest way to get an iphone than those other 2.
