iPhone 6 & iPhone 6 Plus Problems Continue

Apple iPhone 6 problems and iPhone 6 Plus problems continue in the days after their release and it looks like one growing iPhone 6 Plus problem is starting to frustrate many users of Apple’s big screen smartphone.

In September, Apple released its two brand new iPhones dubbed iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. The two devices delivered a number of new features to consumers including bigger displays, new specs, and iOS 8, Apple’s brand new iOS operating system. The two new iPhone 6 models have received rave reviews and are considered two of the top devices on the market. They are not without their faults though.

Apple’s rolled out three iOS 8 updates aimed at tackling issues on board its iPhones and iPads including both the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. iOS 8.1, Apple’s latest update, was aimed at curbing problems that arrived inside iOS 8.0, iOS 8.0.1 and iOS 8.0.2. And while the update fixed a number of issues we, and many other iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus users, are still running into problems.

Since the release of iOS 8.1, we’ve encountered numerous landscape issues on both devices. The issue is similar to one found in iOS 8.0.2 where the devices got stuck in landscape mode when trying to shift into portrait. In iOS 8.1, both the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus consistently get stuck in landscape when in the Messages application. It’s an issue that was supposed to be fixed inside iOS 8.1 but clearly still exists.

We’ve also encountered spotty Wi-Fi connections on the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, the occasional Bluetooth issue on the iPhone 6 Plus, and a disappearing keyboard on the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.

iPhone 6 Review - 2

Apple’s discussion forums are full of complaints about iPhone 6 problems and iPhone 6 Plus problems including a random crashes and random boot issues that occur after a restart. One thread in particular is filling up with complaints about the problems, primarily on the 128GB iPhone 6 Plus, with users going on about freezing, crashes and reboots. Here is how one user describes the problems:

Since restoring from my old iPhone 5S backup onto my 6 Plus 128GB (AT&T) running iOS 8.0, my 6 Plus is laggy (animations are very slow and stutter), freezy (after hitting “done” it often freezes for a good five seconds before registering the click), buggy (the keyboard sometimes doesn’t appear at all, the “halos” around the folders on the home screen sometimes appear and sometimes don’t, seems totally arbitrary), and crashy (whenever doing certain tasks like fast app switching, trying to change wallpaper, and others, the phone crashes, turns off the radios, then shows the Apple screen before rebooting).  The crashing is happening once every five to ten minutes, making the phone VERY FRUSTRATING TO USE.

While there isn’t a guaranteed fix, some users are reporting success with a full on factory reset. A factory reset will wipe the device completely, that means apps and files like photos and videos, though it has the potential to wipe out these problems that could be caused by a bad restore from an older iPhone. The issue does not appear to be too widespread though we’ve seen reboots on both the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus in recent days.

iPhone 6 Review - 3

For now, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus users dealing with crashes, reboots and issues with landscape will need to rely on temporary fixes for their issues. We’ve outlined a number of potential fixes for iOS 8.1 problems. There’s also a chance that Apple’s upcoming iOS 8.1.1 update, currently in beta, will fix some of the bigger issues still on board the iOS 8.1 update.

The iOS 8.1.1 release date is still unknown though with a version in the beta program, it’s clear that an update could be just weeks away for owners of the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. iOS 8.1.1 is confirmed to have a number of bug fixes on board and could deliver better performance to owners of the iPad 2 and iPhone 4s.

I had to get a replacement. One of my problems was that whenever I set my alarm it would go off at 7am no matter what time I set it for.

I don’t know where to start from.
I have been a Verizon Wireless Customer since 2005. I have purchased every iPhone that has come out on verizon, and I had to call verizon in order to have it unlocked so when I leave the U.S for my business trip to Europe I can be able to use my Verizon iPhone. I ordered the new iPhone 6 64GB Silver and I waited 3 weeks for it till I receive it & 2 days later I asked Verizon to unlock it for me, only this time Verizon tell me the iPhone is already unlocked!!! Interesting because usually I had to call and they unlocked it for me but this time they didn’t because it was already unlock, which I find very interesting. So now I’m in Europe I put a third party SIM card from Vodafone and it doesn’t work “IT’S LOCKED” I caled Vodafone and asked why isn’t my iPhone 6 not working, they said because I see that you have purchased it from Verizon Wireless which is located in United States and therefore it’s locked under their activation policy. So you have to call Verizon and ask them to unlock it for you in order for Vodafone SIM card to work here in Europe. So I called Verizon and I asked them again to unlock my iPhone, Verizon tells me the same think that there’s nothing they can do to unlock the device because it’s already unlocked. So I called Apple, Apple told me that my iPhone 6 is locked to Verizon, and they are the only one that can unlock your iPhone. So this one on back and forth for 30 days and no one is able to unlock my iPhone 6. Now I’m left with the device that is worthless and no one is willing to help me shame on Apple and shame Verizon wireless for lying to me. This is true story there’s a lot much more to the story but it will take forever to tell you all about it because it took a month from November 18, 2014 till December 20, 2014 and still no one has helped to fix this issue. After all I have paid for a new device yet have not been able to enjoy it. I have proof if anyone is willing to help me fix this problem is more than welcome to contact me maybe even published is so everybody knows about Verizon Wireless and Apple. Thank you for taking time and reading this I’m sure it would help everybody else who owns an iPhone that does device and does companies are not worth spending your hard earned cash.

I have a 64GB IPhone 6 Plus and since I’ve gotten this phone , with IOS 8.1 , it lagged slightly with a few crashes here and there . I ignored this but now I’m running IOS 8.3 and my keyboard dispappers almost every time I open a messaging app , it freezes quite often and the constant crashing is unbearable .

My iPhone 6 Plus glitches, freezes, white lines come down from the top.it was warranty replaced by Apple 1 time, the “new” 1 did it when I took it out of the box.took to local Apple authorized shop, they seen the issue, couldn’t fix it..sent it to Apple ..who could not find a problem…well now it’s out of warranty so frustrating to use,I have went back to my iPhone 5 with a smashed screen..I have always been a big advocate of this company..no more
