iPhone Xr Release Date & Pre-Order Details

The iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max go on sale soon, but you’ll have to wait a few weeks if you want to put in an iPhone Xr pre-order ahead of its release date in the United States or another region.

Apple’s confirmed three new iPhone models for release this fall. The iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max are the company’s flagship models and they’re set to go on sale at 12:01AM Pacific on September 14th ahead of a global release on September 21st.

The company also plans to release a 6.1-inch LCD iPhone dubbed iPhone Xr. The iPhone Xr isn’t as powerful as the iPhone Xs, but it comes with some enticing features including a Face ID and a variety of new color options.

If you aren’t interested in the iPhone Xs or iPhone Xs Max, the iPhone Xr is worth a look thanks to these features and a cheaper price point. Here’s what to expect from the iPhone Xr release date, pre-order date, and pre-order time.

iPhone Xr Pre-Order Date

The iPhone Xr goes on sale for the first time in the United States on October 19th. This is the iPhone Xr pre-order date for several other regions as well including the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and Japan.

If you want an iPhone Xr as soon as possible you’ll want to pre-order the device for release day delivery. We don’t know how much demand there will be for the 6.1-inch model, but there’s always a chance it sells out ahead of its in-store release date.

We expect Apple Stores to have stock for walk-ins, but it’s impossible to predict how much stock Apple and its partners will have on hand on release day.

Pre-ordering is the only way to ensure you get the color and storage option you want on release day.

iPhone Xr Pre-Order Time

The iPhone Xr pre-order time is confirmed for 12:01AM Pacific on October 19th. This means prospective buyers on the west coast of the United States will need to stay up late while those on the east coast might need to set an alarm and wake up early.

iPhone Xr Release Date

The iPhone Xr release date lands a month after the iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max hit shelves and a week after the start of pre-orders.

The release date is confirmed for October 24th and that’s the day the device will go on sale in 50 countries and regions around the world.

We could see additional countries added so if you don’t see your country listed there, keep your eyes out for additional announcements.

Pre-Order If You Want the iPhone Xs ASAP

If you want to get your hands on an iPhone Xs or iPhone Xs Max next week you'll want to put in a pre-order when they go live. The iPhone Xs might not sell out completely on September 14th, but there's a very good chance we see some (if not all) shipping dates get pushed into late September and October.  If you want to guarantee a delivery on or around September 21st, you'll want to put in a pre-order through Apple or your carrier as soon as the clock strikes Midnight on Friday.  If you skip a pre-order you'll have to deal with waiting in line next week or having to wait several weeks for your new phone to arrive.
