Jim Forbes Is Pushing Pen Based Solutions for Academia

Published

on

Jim Forbes is starting to crank up the evangelizing heat for using Tablet PC and pen based solutions in academia. Awhile back he was asking “where are the Tablet PC evangelists” when it comes to working with educational institutions and he posted a link to Jim Vanides blog (subscribed.) In a recent post he talks about Apple and HP’s approaches to reaching into the educational market and says other companies should emulate their approaches, especially HP’s approach. He points to one company in particular, Microsoft.

Although I used HP and Apple as an example, there is one company that really should do this now. That company is Microsoft, whose Vista operating system could do more to make good on the multiple concepts of pen-based computing and leading edge computer usage. I also think Google should look at this.

I happen to agree. Having had the privilege of interviewing Jim Forbes for a GBM Audio Inkshow, and experiencing his tenaciousness first hand, I hope Jim keeps stoking the fires and others keep fanning the flames. Read Jim’s full post here.
