These days mobile games are increasing in popularity, and have become treasure troves when it comes to profit. Hit titles like Temple Run, Angry Birds, Clash of Clans and others come to mind, and Kate Upton’s new Game of War is right of there with the best of them. It has millions of players globally, supports both iOS and Android, and is one game worth at least trying. Especially if you’re a fan of MMO (massively multiplayer online) games.

So what is Game of War? It is an MMO strategy role playing game where the main goal is to build up a huge army, an empire, and go to war while trying to conquer other empires and keeping yours up and running. Can you build the biggest empire? And if so, you’ll need to protect it.

This fast-paced action game can be extremely addicting, but the more you play the more you’ll want to spend money on some in-app purchases to help build the ultimate empire, a fortress if you will. They’ve spent millions in advertising, and even more with a Super Bowl commercial, so the developers will surely want you to spend some money in the game while enjoying everything it has to offer.

Before we get started too much, here’s the latest ad campaign that aired during the Super Bowl for those interested, or who might of missed it.

The 22 year old super model gets interrupted during her bath time as the enemy is attacking her empire, and she’ll have to fight her way through all the enemies to protect her home. Yes it’s a bit over the top, but gives you a small look at what to expect from the actual game on Android or iOS devices.

What to Expect

Everything from having a perfectly balanced attack and defense, having a huge army, making allies and more are all a part of this fast-paced strategy game. If you’re a fan of strategy titles, you’ll want to give Game of War a try. It’s actually extremely fast-paced, and very very addicting once you give it a try and get past all the Kate Upton stuff. Here’s some of the features.

If you’ve played Clash of Clans, then you know what to expect from Game of War. They’re both very similar, and also happen to be the highest grossing mobile games on both Android and iOS right now, and with good reason. They’re fun and extremely addicting.

Micro-transactions

Yes Game of War is free to play, but you’ll have tons of micro-transactions, or what we call in-app purchases in your face. The game is a strategy game, and surely once you start playing and building your army you’ll get attacked by someone 10x bigger than you. A huge army will come in and wreck havok on everything you’ve built.

It’s this, that they get you. Players need to build troops, walls, buildings, and more in an attempt to attack the enemy or fight off incoming attackers. These buildings and troops then need to be upgraded, get special abilities and more. These tasks don’t take minutes, or even hours. Instead they take hours and often-times days, and that’s only after you’ve saved up enough gold for upgrades. You can upgrade early or finish faster by spending money in the game, and buying more gold. This is where they get you. You don’t need to spend any actual money, but you’ll want to.

All said and done many of these games, like Clash of Clans, hide the in-app purchases extremely well and make them seem like a small price to pay while enjoying the game. With Kate Upton’s Game of War however, they’re everywhere. In your face at every turn trying to get you to spend more money to build your perfect empire for the Greek goddess. Everything from floating money chests, 4x multipliers, sales on gold and more.

Download

One good thing about Game of War is that it’s available on both iOS and Android, and the cross-platform support means that there are millions and millions of players. Finding an epic battle to wage war won’t be hard or take forever, and you’ll be attacking other villages in no time.

If you’ve seen the previews and ads all over TV, or heard about it game from friends, now’s a good time to give it a try. There are likely tons of others doing the same thing after seeing the Super Bowl ad this weekend. Hit the links below and give it a try today.

In the end you’ll need to be a fan of MMO and strategy games, because this one takes times. While it’s fast-paced at times, you’ll be spending countless hours earning gold and upgrading troops. If you’re a fan of the genre give it a try, but if you’re more of a casual gamer looking for an arcade style game, this likely isn’t for you.

Being able to chat with friends and built alliances is a huge part of the game, which you’ll need if you want to protect all your hard work and save the empire. From the little time we’ve spent with it the game feels like a missed opportunity, but certainly has some appeal, not to mention many of the players are a funny bunch. Being able to smack-talk the competition is one of my favorite parts, so download it from the links above and give Kate Upton’s Game of War a try today.
